So it happened to me.

We got the new schedule for January 12th - 18th. Aaand I have a 4.75 hour shift 🙄. I'm not seasonal, since I started in early April and my one coworker barely got 10 hours that week. But I'm definitely taking this as a sign to start applying to other places and to get the hell out of here asap.

EDIT: Looks like one of my coworkers has abandoned her job, depends if she comes in tomorrow or not. So I told my Team Lead I'd take her shifts that she was scheduled for that week if she actually need just up and leave.

i think it had to do with the payroll. Some of my coworkers who’ve been here for almost a year only got 5. My a manger straight up told us no one is getting more than 10 hours a week until February :/

I understand that. I never expected to get 30+ hours, ever but especially after the holidays but I mean a minimum of 15 is at least what I can live off of.

Ask your manager if it was a mistake...?

Is Target going to run an ad saying not to come shopping that week, as there will be no employees stocking the shelves or ringing them out? I have one shift that week (instead of 4-6).

The first six weeks of the year, with the exception of a few days before Valentine's Day, there's pretty much zero need for more than one cashier and a self-checkout operator Mondays through Fridays. Even on the weekends, it's maybe three at peak time.

I mean, when most of the year, your store does like ninety grand a day, and then you're doing fifty grand for a month, payroll's gonna get cut in half because there's half as much stuff going out the door.

My store is still pretty busy. We had one cashier scheduled and even though I was the only one in style and had a million things to do, I spent a good chunk of my shift up at the lanes. With the amount of money that this place just made over the holidays it can afford to have it's payroll be bigger and to staff enough people.

I has to trim by entire team to five hour shifts and trim myself to 30 hours. It’s just the time of year for it. 🤷‍♀️
