I got this last year and am getting it again this year I can highly recommend. It's really nice just being able to say I need more and what kinds the have it shipped.

If I read the site correctly, that's 480 × 700 kcal = 336,000 kcal for €900, or €5.36 per 2,000 kcal excluding shipping costs.

Yup. For those of us in the US, that comes out to a little below $1,000 with shipping costs included, or roughly $6.25 a day.

A big investment, to be sure, but if you like Queal's shakes it is a great deal.

They're rather non-transparent about what you're actually getting (since "meals" is an arbitrary / meaningless measurement), but if I'm understanding this correctly, this is for 160 bags? I'm basing this on information elsewhere on the site where they seem to have arbitrarily declared that 1 bag = 3 "meals". UPDATE: I eventually did find "160 bags" confirmation in the FAQ but I wish they put it in a more prominent location.

So using the lump sum option ... 160 bags for $988 (including shipping) = $6.18 USD per bag.

Soylent is about $8.69 per bag (assuming no coupons or specials) so there's a decent savings with Queal, and Queal actually tastes good without additional flavoring so there's a bit less work involved.

Queal being 2100 calories per bag instead of 2000 isn't necessarily a good thing if you're mixing a bag at a time and sticking to a 1 bag = 1 day system. I guess you could skim off 100 calories worth of powder every day and every 20 days you'd have the equivalent of a "free" bag but that's too much effort for me.

Are there really people who only mix one meal at a time instead of mixing an entire bag in a 2-liter pitcher? I'm still using my original Soylent pitcher from like 2014 and it's still working fine, never felt a need to mix just one meal, I would rather use a pre-mixed product in that scenario to save on time.

I'm also wondering about shipment on these... I've ordered Queal a couple times before (to the United States) and although the bags were all miraculously intact, the shipping boxes they were in were nearly completely destroyed in transit (being held together with bits of tape), to the point where I had to count the bags to verify none came out in transit. I'm nervous that the situation may be worse with even larger shipments.

I for one do mix one bag at a time. That way I can have multiple flavours in one day instead of just chocolate 3 meals in a row for example.

Also since Queal doesn't last quite as long as Soylent in the fridge, I found that if I mixed 3 meals at once I tended to end up wasting some.

Also, the Queal shakers are very useful and convenient for mixing one meal at a time. I typically mix one, refrigerate it, and whenever I drink that one I mix another. That way I always have one ready, I alternate flavours regularly, and they never go bad from mixing too much at once.

Edit: About shipping, I usually have no problem with boxes, but this last one looked like it went through a warzone. It was just strips of cardboard which someone placed in a plastic bag due to the damages in shipping... but like your experience, all the bags were still in perfect condition thankfully. I've ordered Queal in large quantities 8 times and this was the only time the box was significantly damaged, so all things considered it has a fairly good track record for me.
