Mine was when I finally received the nintendo super mario 3 strategy guide. That was nearly 19 years ago. Happy days.
I won a copy of SMB3 before it was released, by finding a blue Princess in my Mario fruit snacks. Mom put the piece in the egg holder in the fridge, waiting to send it out. Unfortunately I was an impatient kid and couldn't resist tasting the Princess, so I lost my shot at a pre-release copy. Luckily grandma kicked ass and had one sent to me on my birthday later that year.
I love when game covers/art look like they were coloured with crayons or pencil crayons.
STOP THIS NOW. we don't need another "no this is" thing.
Mine was partially intended to evoke just your response - kinda like when I post 'This.' comments. Yay.
Couldn't agree more. Erdrick, my friend and I shared many adventures. The map that came with the instruction manual was invaluable! Long forget are the days of slaying metal slimes and putting gollems (sp?) to sleep. I really like the music that accompanied the game and the sfx when you do a criticial strike.
Yeah that extended sound from crits was awesome, especially on occasion when it seemed to hang for a sec before the final note. A friend and I took turns on the same savegame, leveling when playing solo, doing quest things when we were both there. I watched a speedrun the other day and was surprised at how much I remembered. I got all excited when he went to pick up the Rainbow Drop and make the bridge. It's amazing what you can do with button timing and the sleep spell, dude was at lvl 7 when he took down the Dragon Lord.
Totally did the same thing! We would level when we couldn't progress together. Always remembered how awesome getting Erdrick's sword felt.
