I bought a Nintendo Switch for my kids for Christmas

Fluff

And we have been bonding the three of us, Me (35F) and my two boys (9 and 7) by playing Pokemon Sword together and helping each other play. When I became I mom I was looking forward to the day I could bond with my kids through gaming and it feels great. I just got to the Fairy Gym and my Axew evolved, waiting on my oldest now to beat the fighting gym and catch up. He's gonna help me beat the fairy gym because he knows what's good against what, I think I have to level up a poison pokemon or so he says. Tonight we are gonna help my youngest beat the water gym. Anyway that's my fluff post.

My dad used to play SNES with me when I was only 3. That made the most precious memories for me.

You're a great mom and your kids will remember these activities many years later.

That’s awesome! My son (just turned 5) got really into the switch as he got older, and the other day, after mama tried to beat a boss for him in Mario + Rabbids for an hour or so, he got up the next morning and beat it himself first try. We were so proud.

I’d also recommend Mario Kart and/or Mario Party for whole-family antics. Really solid, really wholesome games.

My youngest just beat Luigi's Mansion 3, I'm a proud mama! but he did spend weeks before Christmas watching walkthrough's on Youtube lol. He's been asking for Mario party so we may have to get that one too, Thanks for the recommendations!

I showed my son a video of Luigi’s Mansion but when it got to the giant boo in the intro he was like nah let’s watch something else.

He also doesn’t like it when I play games that have any sort of “attacking” or overt hostility. Pretty proud of that too!

One of favorite memories is when my dad woke me and brother up at the crack of dawn to wait in line for the GameCube release at circuit city (kids ask your parents) and we just played the original luigis mansion all day as a family. Me and brother played co-op luigis mansion 3 on release day and my mother even jumped in for a few minutes. now I have even more memories.

I literally want this so much in my life! My niece is 3 and her parents are also big nerds, and she just started learning her first board game. I cannot WAIT until she gets old enough for video games too. We live very far apart physically so I’m hoping as she gets older we might get to know her playing games together :)
