My secret santa won't be receiving his gift until January!

My client owes me a few grand and I was expecting that this month. Didn't happen. (Edit here: he's not at fault, he had a bit of an emergency and I don't fault him for being late paying me, I know he'll never read this but I don't want to insinuate he's a bad guy) So I'm flat broke, absolutely and completely, until he catches up in early January. I have an excellent plan for my santee's gift, he gave me a lot of great ideas on his bio, but I won't be able to execute this until January and I feel terrible. Should I contact him and tell him directly, or would that violate the point of 'secret' santa?

Edit: Also, MY santa did an awesome job with my gift, and I was really happy. I've hesitated posting the results due to my embarrassment in being delayed getting my gift out to my santee (I don't like to receive when I haven't given) so his credit and appreciation is coming soon...

Edit 2: I just now saw where I can pick up the slack for someone who didn't follow through. To help make up for my lateness, I'm signing up to gift to an additional person. That'll help alleviate a little of my guilt, and make someone smile when they randomly receive a Christmas gift in January :D

Oy Hun you were supposed to PM him on the 6th if you were going to be late. The poor guy probably thinks he has been shafted for weeks! Didn't you read all the messages all over this subreddit, or the emails that redditgifts has been sending out?

I never read this subreddit because I'm lame, and I used an email address that I don't have forwarded to my phone so I just now got all the msgs when I looked this morning. My bad, but it'll be corrected, and I'm doing a little extra for the poor guy to make up for it :)
