Any way of changing "Uncontrolled" AI to false via scripting?

Because of the way I play DCS I had this idea that it would be really cool to have a ramp populated with my aircrafts and then select one and start it. Certainly much more attractive than invisible aircrafts on an empty airbase (other than AI's) that only spawn into reality when you select them.

After some googling it turned out that I'm not the first with this idea, and that apparently there is no way of doing it.

Anyway... I thought of using AI aircrafts with the "Uncontrolled" option checked and use a trigger to activate one. I had that working so far. The last bit would be to be able to jump in with RAlt+J, but as it's marked as "Uncontrolled" this option is obviously not available. But at the same time it must be marked as "Uncontrolled" at the beginning of the mission to avoid them being active and fly away.

I don't know anything about scripting in DCS and I couldn't find a way of set Uncontrolled to false in the middle of the mission. Normally that means that it can't be done, but I thought of asking here before giving up.

I can't recall the exact details, but you can activate ai that are 'uncontrolled' in game with triggers. You've gotta give them the task start() (on the unit properties somewhere) and then use AI push task trigger, select that start() and it'l switch the ai on.

You want a script called SWAPR. It does this all for you

You don’t set the “uncontrolled” to false, but you can give the AI a “Start” task. Try doing a “Group Start” trigger or something like it. The plane should do its ramp start procedure and fly its mission (or at least take off).

Sorry I’m not in front of the mission editor right now to look up the exact trigger setting.

I managed to get there, but then I want to take control but that's not possible with AI marked as "uncontrolled".

Oh that is different. Not sure what the purpose of that would be. You can place static aircraft if you want to create a certain set piece or ambience.

In single player I like to do my own missions with lots of client slots of my different modules in both sides and some AIs fighting each other. Then I jump in as I feel like and see if I can change the outcomes, etc... whatever crosses my mind that day.

I just thought that it would be cool to see all the available slots already visible and parked.
