I had a post deleted that didn't break a single one of the guidelines. I can only assume that it was taken down because I challenged the OP and they didn't like it. They were much ruder about me.
I think it was a troll anyway so no matter but fuck me the moderation sucks.

The recent spate of Harry and Meghan threads have made me realise anew how crap the moderation is. I'm starting to wonder what the "spirit of the site" truly is.
It’s a very clever policy. They can delete literally anything they like and then roll out that as an excuse. And they do!
I think they even pay attention to their own guidelines and haven't for a long time. I'm not sure why they even have them anymore as it seems to be a free for all.
This is what I was sent when I complained.
" We didn't feel your post was in the spirit of the site or supportive, and that's why we deleted it. "
Tempted to ask why they don't delete the hundreds of far nastier and goady posts that seem to be just fine but I'll probably get banned for doing so. I'm fumin' it's fucking discusting :)
Did they say what you were supposed to have done?

OMG I actually found myself saying that exact phrase when I was investigating a grievance recently and interviewing the person who had raised it. I was so frustrated that he appeared to have expected his manager to be Psychic Sally!

I thought that woman who had worked for MN said they had no consistent moderation policy? So yes they are making it up as they go along.
It's always been bollocks - that's what makes it so frustrating.
They never look at comments in context either, if they did they'd delete the PA, goady comments that lead someone to snap & tell someone to fuck off too!
