Hey mom, it's me, Sad Addition,
I'm so scared of coming out to you as an bisexual atheist. I respect your religion but I'm scared of the fact I won't get the same thing back. I've spent most of my 21 years of life hiding who I am for the sake of having you in my life. I know what your religion says about same sex relationships and you'll most likely never accept me if I do come out to you.
I've hidden a lot from you about what I'm going through because I never wanted to burden you with my issues. I might never find anyone who would love me and I fully accept it.
How can I be more confident with who I am? I know if you find out about who I really am, things wont be the same for me and you.

Oh sweet thing, this is such a tough place to be. I have kids of my own, but my own mom still dismisses my beliefs and identity as "a phase." It's so frustrating when someone you care about views reality through such a narrow lens that they are blind to any other perspective.
From my vantage point, I can see that you are much happier and more at peace living authentically. You've shown so much courage in making these changes and stepping out into a life that fits you better. You are not broken, and you don't need to be rescued or fixed. You are enough. You always have been.
Thank you so much.
