The year is 2013. Death Grips had cancelled a long string of tour dates, ending with an appearance at LA’s FYF Fest. No one knew if they’d actually go on. I was front row when they did.

YES! I was in that pit! I went to FYF for years and years and I think that year was my favorite.
I just took a look at the schedule, I remember staying at that stage from The Locust, through The Oh Sees and the Black Flag reunion and the dust bowl that was that Death Grips pit...what a crazy day.

Hey there, fellow pit neighbors! It was so dusty in the pit that nobody even paid me any mind when I took an accidental detour through skid row on my way home.
Best show experience of my life to date. No Death Grips show I've seen since had the same energy for me, although some have come close

That pit was absolutely ludicrous. My friend lost his shoe, got hit in the head, and woke up in the medical tent. He says he doesn’t regret a thing.
