A more specific question about grips.

{Other}

Hey guys, lately I've been playing with various grips and have some questions about details I don't really see being talked about.

For the longest time I used ranger grip because I felt I had the best grouping at range, I felt it helps with horizontal recoil too. I'm pretty sure either driftor or xclusive ace said it does help a little with horizontal so I don't think it was placebo. Does anyone know if, and to what extend it helps horizontally compared to commando?

Second thing, I started playing around with operator grip after avoiding it for quite a while because of +2frames penalty, to my surprise it seems to be fixed because I don't really see any ADS time difference between ranger and operator, and operator seems to provide same/similar vertical reduction while allowing faster ADS walking.

Any of you play with those grips or tested them? What are your thoughts?

I've only used the ranger on ar's that needed long shots, so commando mid and other challenges, merc for hip and close maps and then pop on a ranger for when i needed longs. Then i noticed that the commando was generally better for longs. Then even later I started using any barrel that was plus 3. So range, bullet velocity and recoil. Then put on a muzzle one for more recoil help and the rest for ads.

Shooting at a wall looking for differences in recoil is not always the true tale of how it plays. If you are starting to question the effectiveness of anything you are putting on, then just start over. Take it all off and play a couple of matches with nothing. Add things one at a time until you and the weapon meet in the middle. You might have to change the way you play, you might have to help the gun play the way you want.
I intentionally built some really bad combos that took ages to ads, some it didn't really matter and they worked good, some were trash. I ran a fr with sniper, muzzle break, merc, rubber and a cronen 480. That's like swap to a pistol faster than it would ads. But I had my best game ever first time out with it. Took me a while to realize that most of that stacked on what the barrel did most of. Now I run one opposite with everything for ads and use it only on shoot house.
Any way I have gotten off on a tangent here sorry for the book. Just try them all, it's one of the best features in the game.
