How is manga different to anime

Sorry if this is a bit to ask, but I've only seen the anime and I'm just wondering if someone can summarize how to manga goes (I think the anime is accurate to season 1 ( episode after kei's cover is blown), even a few bullet points are fine I'm just wondering.

The manga is better

The ending of the anime was eye-rolling and Tanaka’s character development just crashed. The differences weren’t small. They were loud and stupid.

Oh boy, where to start:

Art: The artstyle in the manga fits the series very well. Characters' emotions are a lot more expressive. I absolutely love Sakurai's artstyle. It feels clearly inspired by other sci-fi artists like Katsuhiro Otomo. Sometimes, the way he draws the mouths screaming can resemble similarly to how Otomo draws mouths. It's a small thing that I noticed which convinced me that Sakurai definitely is a fan of Otomo's artstyle and probably tried to replicate it at one point in his life. The artstyle overall has a very dark and mature vibe that is clearly missing in the anime. Things such as the wrinkles on the characters, and other finer details are lost in translation due to the inferiority of 3D animation which was used in the anime adaptation. Its' a damn shame because the manga art is beautiful. It deserves better.

Story: There's clear censorship during violent scenes. In the anime, Sato>! infiltrated the company's building using C4 bombs. In the manga, he flew into the building with a plane 9/11 style.!< I was utterly annoyed that they changed it in the anime. Terrorism is a huge theme in this manga, and to have them change that scene was an insult to the manga readers.

I second this. In the manga they make it clear that terrorism is a bad thing, and that Sato is some kind f monster for doing it. At the same time there being people believing he actually does it to fight akin inequality. Is not only for shock value, it has a lot of weight in the manga. And the scene of the company building was just the start. I don't think they could've been able to animate the parts on the JSDF base.

I knew there was something similar with the art in Akira and Ajin

That sounds awesome, wish I saw that in anime.

There are some major differences, mostly in the end of season one, but even earlier: There's some cut content (including one with Kei's schoolfriend trying to take up his cause), and Kei's relationship with his IBM is different.

Honestly, there are so many small differences that add up in the end that it's better to read the manga from the start. Satou's older in the manga and more easily bored, Tanaka has doubts from the start, Takahashi and Gen are more antagonistic towards society... etc.

after season one there is a battle in the forge security company building where every "black suit guy" dies except Manabe, it's revealed that ajins can cut a piece of their body, die, then come back to life and put the regenerating side against something to create a hole in the thing no matter how hard te substance is. after that, Kei leaves Nakano, Tosaki and everyone else, then calls his mom and stuff, Tosaki's fiance dies, the third wave starts and Satou betrays Tanaka because Tanaka doesn't wanna spill any blood anymore. But Izumi and Nakano save Tanaka, then Nakano saves that firefighter guy (Reiji) that Takahashi and Gen attacked while Nakano escaped, Kaito comes back and attacks Satou when Satou was saying farewell to Kei before going to another country. Satou kills Kaito and Kei at the same time and causes Kei to flood, Satou takes advantage of this and makes his IBM headbutt Kei's IBM and exchange mental states with him and Satou creates a flood as well. now there are thousands of IBM roaming around and killing everyone they see. Kaito becomes an ajin after being killed by Satou. Also, Okuyama betrayed Satou when Reiji was being rescued.

The manga is still ongoing tho

Thank you this is perfect, I did see some panels were they were both talking about their floods and then the floods went to kill people at a gas station so this is an awesome catch up.

I have something in mind but I don‘t know if I remember this correctly.

In the manga Kei can‘t really control his IBM.

But in the anime his IBM always does the opposite of what Kei is saying. So this gives him a possibility to control the IBM because he can tell him the opposite of what he actually wants him to do.

Can someone confirm this? I watched the anime quite a long time ago and just started to rewatch it but haven‘t caught up to that yet.
