How should I proceed with B1 after beating it? (Potential spoilers I guess)
I just beat it for the first time on Normal and I loved pretty much everything except the parts that everyone hates like QTEs and the bike/missile parts lasting too long (why'd they have to lock Jeanne #4 behind all that?!). I started to replay it on Normal mode to improve my rankings and while it's really fun to say learn the Fortitudo fight and get better, it's quite frustrating dealing with QTEs and stuff on a no item/no KO type of run.
So my question is is it better to try perfecting a lower difficulty or to play a higher difficulty and using items/eating KOs to get past stages? I just want to collect and unlock stuff really.

First of all, welcome to this Bayo fanbase! I strongly recommend you beat lower difficulties in order to obtain all weapons in playthrough (Kilgore, Onyx Roses, Odette, Kulshedra, Durga, Shuraba). Other weapons have specific unlocking criteria. If you have this weapons, skip this advice.
Real challenge is play this game in Normal, Hard and NSIC. Beat all Alpheims (there aren't Alpheims in easy and very easy), catch all crows and get weapons by finishing it in Hard and NSIC.

Hmm I have all of those except Kilgore and Kulshedra, I still need a couple of pieces of each. Do I really need to do them on easy mode? Can't I just repeat the stages on normal?

You can replay it in any difficulty in order to obtain them because are a part of playthrough.
I grabbed the last two weapons on normal, so now I have everything in your list. I'll check my messages now!
