First of all, it was amazing from start to finish. V is a bit weird to play as but nothing really felt frustrating or bad, and even with V I actually enjoyed the Geryon Knight and the 3 boss thing in M14. The frequency of checkpoints that allow you to suspend missions and skipping over item use to directly ask you how you want to deal with defeat go a long way in reducing frustration I think. The fully moveable camera and floaty jumps/dodges make life easier too.

King Cerberus actually made me really erect. Both the boss and the weapon but mostly the weapon. My favourite DMC3 weapon now has air hike, 2 extra elements and a whole new SM moveset? Motivates the hell out of me. I know people

Basically I'm finishing college very soon and have already finished all assessments related to the language itself. I want to sort of quit Latin but not forget it. I have a bunch of Ørberg books and there's more out there, so should I just read a small amount a day (30 mins max) or is there a more efficient way to maintain a language without dedicating too much time to it?

With modern languages you kind of naturally use them a little every day as long as you have reason to, but I'm worried Latin will slip away from me if I have to actively study it.

Playing on Switch so there's no loss of my other styles and so I started to just spam it whenever I feel like it. It's kind of funny how exposed a lot of these bosses are just from sitting still for a second. You don't even need to aim at Geryon or anything, just casually walking up to him is enough to knock him over. Nevan's shield depletes before she can even move. I'm only playing on hard so they have low health, but still, it's fun just freezing anything for a second and switching to another style.

Vergil is even funnier because he nearly seems unaffected by it. Guess it's all that motivation. Seems like a good way to get in some extra hits to force him out of DT though?

I guess I'm mostly talking about bosses here. Regular enemies are fine for the most part, some are just irritating like the fallen.

Vergil is obviously amazing, but I just beat Lady again and was just thinking about how she's kinda boring to fight. She uses really basic hit & run tactics and that's about it. Coming from Bayonetta (yes I'm a shit Switch noob) and having fought Vergil in this game there's quite a lot of excitement you can get out of fighting someone human-sized that moves somewhat like you and Lady is missing that.

You also have things like the Gigapede which is just a glorified stage hazard and then Arkham is... Arkham. It's making me think that they got Dante down pret

I'm trying to get the bracelet of time on normal mode and this is the one level left where I only have a silver statue. Getting gold or platinum seems to be easy enough for me now but I guess the mech suit is throwing me off. It's probably the least fun level once the spectacle has worn off...

So any tips? Is there a decent combo to spam?

I know each medal has a time score and your statue is based on your medals, but does the game take into account the time you spend between fights when you're just walking around finding stuff, or can I take my time catching crows and finding Alfheims?

So I beat it on easy mode. I didn't actually get stuck on normal, made it to Geryon before switching I just wanted to scout ahead and unlock more stuff, and now I'm finishing normal. Fun game. Anyway.

  1. Is there a decent way to cancel with guns on freestyle mode? Seems like the only way you can keep firing quickly is to just cycle through every gun? I switch too slowly with the right stick to actually cancel the reload.

  2. I've heard people say Beowulf is a good way to take down Nevan, but how? Is it good for her shield? Or is she just weak to it when stunned or what?

  3. How do you actually beat Cerberus? I've beaten him several times on easy and normal but I just... don't know how to do

I'm almost scared to criticize this game here but mission 15 can eat my ass. I didn't even get that lost, I'm just offended by how it's made up of only irritating things.

While we're here, Gigapede and Leviathan are not great either. >:(

DMC3 for Switch will be my first game (I watched an LP of 1 because they're sold separately and wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it with how dated it is. Might come back to it later).

I kinda suck at Bayonetta but I thought it was very accessible and easy to just survive and see the story. The checkpoints are so frequent that it's easy to practice one part until you can do it, and now I can get through normal/hard chapters with no deaths and minimal item use, especially the second game.

I was just wondering what DMC3 is like in comparison since it's slightly older. Will dying mean having to repeat long sections at any point? Ideally I'd want to play on normal (hard is probably too hard for a begin

Right so for my very last semester of college I figured I would just commute daily between Limerick and Cork since a monthly train ticket seemed cheaper than renting for 2-3 months. I bought said ticket today and was greeted with a 45 minute delay after an already ridiculous 40 minute...layover? in Limerick Junction, causing me to miss class. Since I had already used the first train I couldn't just choose not to go and get a refund from where I bought the ticket, and I needed to go to Cork to get to my other classes so I've now used a full day out of my 30.

Realistically are they going to give me my money back when I ask? I'm worried that me using it once is going to make things very hard,

I just beat it for the first time on Normal and I loved pretty much everything except the parts that everyone hates like QTEs and the bike/missile parts lasting too long (why'd they have to lock Jeanne #4 behind all that?!). I started to replay it on Normal mode to improve my rankings and while it's really fun to say learn the Fortitudo fight and get better, it's quite frustrating dealing with QTEs and stuff on a no item/no KO type of run.

So my question is is it better to try perfecting a lower difficulty or to play a higher difficulty and using items/eating KOs to get past stages? I just want to collect and unlock stuff really.

The gods put a lot of effort into protecting him during the Trojan war, apparently because he's destined to become king of the Trojan people.

Was he supposed to escape and found his own kingdom like in the Roman conceptualization of him, or was he simply destined to become king because if the sack of Troy never occurred, someone would have to succeed Priam anyway? The idea that he's destined to go to Italy works quite well in retrospect, but Homer can't have been thinking about that when singing about Aeneas' skirmishes, so it's something I find confusing. He's the son of Aphrodite so I imagine the Greeks had some ideas about him, are they all lost?

Follow up question: was the Roman idea

I recently discovered this pseudohistorical account and I thought it was quite interesting that it starts off with a British spin on the myth of Aeneas. I was born in England so I thought it would be fun to try out something closer to home, and if anyone can give any insight regarding how British people used Latin at the time that would be great.

It was written in 1136 AD in Britain, so it's quite far removed from the classical period. It's also pre-Renaissance, which I understand means Latin was simply inherited and influenced by local languages and dialects rather than people studying the reconstructed pronunciation like how most of us first learn Latin now. Would this cause Geoffrey of M
