Who is a Dragon?

SpoilerCosmere

In Brandon's third book signing video, he was asked about dragon's in the Cosmere. He says that we haven't seen Dragon's in Dragon form yet, but they are shapeshifters. I'm interested who you all think could be Dragons.

Off the top of my head I'm thinking Mraize and Iyatil, but I haven't put much thought into it yet.

That's the right answer to most questions.

Mraize is confirmed to be Thaylen, and Iyatil born in Silverlight, so neither of them are likely to be dragons.

He is? Huh.

He is a world hopper though, so maybe he knows one.

Mraize is a worldhopper? Was he in any other books under a different name or is his worldhopping just implied? Can't remember that part although it has been a while.

I believe it’s implied, or at least he knows how to Worldhop, even if he sends others to do it for him. He has various artifacts in his room when he first meets Shallan that show he’s Cosmere aware. Notably he has a tree branch from Yolen, the home planet of the original Vessels and a chicken from first of the sun.

Iyatil probably taught him. She’s his master (supervisor) and was born on Silverlight, but is a descendant of the Southern Scadrians. Most notably she was apart of the Seventeenth shard, so she for sure knows how to navigate the Cognitive Realm.

Fantastic. Thanks for that, shows how much you can miss. I'll hopefully pick up lots on my read through, certainly did even just going back to Elantris.

Well, Frost of course. Maybe one or more vessels, such as Edgli or Bavadin.

I remember a WoB a while back where Brandon got asked if Edgli, Vessel of Endowment, was a dragon, and he answered with a RAFO. I'm assuming that with the evidence we have from Nalthis, she probably is a dragon. Given that Yolen is populated by humans, dragons, and the Sho Del, I'd bet that there would have to be some number of members from each species among the sixteen.

At the moment, I'm thinking that another one of the Vessels, a Vessel that hasn't been explicitly named or shown on screen, could also be a dragon.

What is the evidence from Nalthis regarding Edgli being a dragon?

I haven’t read Warbreaker in a while, but I remember reading that dragons are a part of Nalthian mythology. There’s also a WOB about the Cognitive Anomaly on the star chart of Nalthis, and when asked if that anomaly was Edgli as a dragon, orbiting the planet, Brandon gave a RAFO.

..... Hoid. I don't actually think so, but on the off chance I want to be able to say I called it.

If he wasn't at birth, he'll become one before too long

He calls Frost (who is a dragon) "you old reptile" in one of his letters, which is a phrase I don't think he would use if he were a dragon himself.

Oh yeah, like I said, I don't actually believe he is. But on the off chance that it turns out he was I want to be able to say "look here, I called it," lol.

I think that Edgli being a dragon is a popular theory. Another possibility is that dragons are part of some secret organizations, though according to an above comment, both Mraize and Iyatil are ruled out.
