Nelson and Hood comparison (my opinion, but want to share it with you)
I will devide this short comparasion into multiple categories and at the end we should have picture of both ships. Before I start my comparasion, I just want to say, that both of them are very good ships, but way different in playstyle.
Commanders:
- Nelson: Nelson with Brawler, Firefighter, Master mechanic and with his legendary skill, that increases shell damage at the cost of pen, which actually works great, AP can still punish CAs and BBs and HE is still killing enemy BBs and DDS. Inspirations are Cunningham and Hyde.
- Hood: Hood with increased range and preccision, Crisscross, Pride of the navy (bonus speed) and Master mechanic. Inspirations are Cunningham and Guepratte.
Survivability
- Nelson: It has 60k HP and unfortunatelly very big citadel in comparison to majority of other BBs, but if you angle correctly (your third turret can almost shoot, but it actually can´t, then you have good angle), it is very tanky, the special trait of Nelson is his zombie heal (heals very big amount of damage, but heals only 10% of citadel damage). Nelson can easily tank and hold flank (not push just, slow down the enemy) for very long time even with minimal support.
- Hood: It has biggest HP pool on tier 6 with 67k and if it is angled correctly and uses it´s superior speed (35,5 knots with my build) it can attract and distract lot of enemy ships, so they are wasting their shots(in comparison Nelson is practically atracting damage and healing it).
Artillery
- Nelson: It has 9 406mm guns with range of 14,6km and with 27 sec reload. HE has very good fire chance, damge and penetration values, so it can break torpedo tubes, secondaries. AP sheel are standars short fuse britsh AP shells, but that makes them great tool for punishing of cruisers.
- Hood: It has 8 380mm guns with range of 16km and with 27 sec reload. AP is very good in punishing of CAs and it hurt BBs too, but don´t except citadels on BBS very often, because of short fuse timer. HE worked good against one unfortunate DD, that got too close.
My verdict
- Nelson: For me it´s bowtanker wet dream on tier 6 and even in whole game, because of gorgeous heal and ability to sustain almost anything if angled properly, just can´t get on less then 8km distance to BBs armed withgund of caliber 38cm and bigger. If you love setting everything on fire and breaking torpedo tubes on german BBs, wrecking their secondaries and destroying engines in cruisers, you will love the Nelson.
- Hood: I love the map control, that Hood offers, it is fast, can go and help to secure the succes of push or hold the flank with his great kiting ability, it can be annoying for enemy, but the turning radius is very big, still haven´t got 100% used to it, but after one day of playing I am enjoying it. Most important thing is, that it can be used as very healthy and fast torpedo (had to inclued this here, sorry)
So I got to the end of my writing and I am back, where I begann my work, they are both great and lovely ship, but each is different in it´s playstyle and role for team.

Nice overview, you nailed it - thanks a lot! Nelson is a little easier to play as Hood requires more active maneuvering/kiting to be effective.
You hit it exactly into middle or you nailed it in other words. TY ft or feed back
