No more swearing?
Every time I say something with a swear word in it it is censored after the new update. Any way to turn it off?

It's incredibly strict.
Try saying "How do I check my unit's hitpoints?"

Definitely need an option to tone it down, or disable it entirely.

Was playing the AI with friends and noticed the message the AI sends after a resign was full of ********'s.
Wonder if they're being censored?

Probably yes. Likely devs added censorship and didn't bother to test it.

The game is rated Teen, with one of the reasons being because of "Language". If it was rated "Everyone" i'd get it, but nah, 13 year olds swear more than most adults.

Also it seems they just censor basically anything in German for good measure. I had a normal chat with a friend and barely any message came through, it was all *************** I feel discriminated against, it only sounds angry, we dont actually mean it that way

“Balls of fire” is also censored, presumably because of “balls”??? Most of the computer resign messages are censored also. This is really dumb. I am pretty conservative when it comes to foul language, but this is beyond crazy. You already have the option to mute people in chat.

Oh for gods sake, please lets not go down this road. Let people swear if they have to, I wonder why they felt the need to implement this
I hope this is not their answer to the request for some kind of lobby moderation against racism ect...
If someone is shitting on me I want to know what they are saying.
Not everyone playing is an adult, and not everyone is fine with swearing. I personally am but a general audience game censoring just swear words should be fine.
It should be limited only to actual swears though. Not obscure combos that may not be a swear like someone below had said.

so we stick to the standard of making the game suitable for different auditories by imposing a censorship for everyone? First of all, as I already stated, this game features killings, some in a torturing manner (onagers, petards, demo ships) yet people are sensitive about a word from a stranger? Secondly, yeah, accepting there are certain people who get offended by such behaviour, but why not make it an option for those who want to see what others type in chat?
The game is rated Teen, so it doesn't need to cater to little children as that's not the intended audience (in fact, you could say it's a prohibited audience), and every teenager i know is exposed to just as much if not more swearing in their day to day lives.
