What is the best way to approach someone who might have ripped you off?

I recently picked up a quarter of some amazing-looking bud and I paid $120 for it. When I came back and weighed it out, it came out to be only 6.4 grams (I weighed it out a few times to make sure). I know that the scale is fine because it reads that a coin nickel is exactly 5 grams.

What should I say to him? I have other guys to go to, but he is the most convenient for me, and I don't want to lose this contact.

Thanks.

You need to lawyer up and tell him this asap. The longer you wait the less credible your complaint will be.

Call him up and tell him it's short. Do not laugh or make jokes (that shows nervousness). This is business and if he can't fix your purchase then tell him you will have to go elsewhere.

note none of this applies if he owns guns.

Is this guy your friend or just some dude you buy pot from? If it's the first, you should talk it out with them and do what you have to do. If it's the latter, just go to someone else; I won't say all people who sell pot are scum bags, but there are scum bags that sell pot. Sadly, that the cost of pot being illegal. When I was in California at a dispensary, they weigh that shit out in front of you and usually hook it up.

TS;DR: if a friend is trying to rip you off - that's fucked up. If some dude who sells pot rips you off, just go to some other dude that sell pot.

He's just some guy I met through something like a friend of a friend.

yea, fuck that guy, don't call him anymore, he'll get his. Like Captain Malcolm Reynolds will say "someone is carrying his bullet." Try to find someone chill and in their mid-twenties to buy your pot from (who is to old to start shit and get in trouble), just make sure their on the level.

And take it from someone who has bought a lot of fucking weed, if someone start pulling that 30/60/120 shit on you, they're already trying to pull a fast one on you.

Normally, he was selling quarters to me for $110, but this batch is supposedly better (I'm about to go smoke a bowl right now to test out the rip-off bud ha ha).

But anyway, thanks for the bit of wisdom. I'll probably stop buying from him. If not, at least definitely not as often.

Usually, the best thing to do, is to immediately bring the sack back with your scale. In a non-accusational tone, tell him that your scale read 6.4 and was wondering if your scale was off. Then have the guy weigh them both out on both scales. There is no need for you to call out the guy or get in his face. Most times it is an accident. If not, they always play dumb. Either way, they usually give you an extra .3 or so for the inconvenience.

In this circumstance, I'm guessing you have already blazed the bag. If the dealer is cool, just tell him, but more in a tone that you are trying to help them, so as they don't make the mistake again and loose more customer satisfaction. If he's not cool... then he might have done it on purpose.

Hey judging by the way you're describing the shit and all that - don't lose him

how often do you grab quarters off him? if usual (you say usually it's 110) then you should definitely talk to him. Be like

yo straight i come grab off you on the regular, it's true you don't need me but i'd like to make this work, you charged me an extra 10$ on the last batch, i'm already paying 40$ extra for 7 grams (10 to the gram should be the price anywhere and everywhere), again remember 0.6 isn't a whole lot, but just let the dude know that as a repeat customer it isn't cool he does that, ask him be like "next time i grab off you how would you like it if i gave you the money and after you counted it i took back 10$?" .. same shit

Its $20 to the gram in a lot of places actually. Sadly i am in one of those places.

You already over paid fifty dollars for a quarter, is that .6 grams worth getting your connection cut off?

1
DomitriOP•

$120 / 7g = about $17/gram. 60% of $17/gram is about $10 for those .6 grams. This is why it's a tough call for me because he shorted me about $10 worth of bud, but this is about 8% of the total cost.

yeah, losing ten dollars is unfortunate. may i ask what area you live in? because, honestly, a quarter should cost you $80. if it's super dank, maybe $100.

i'd follow the other ents advice on finding another dealer.

Unfortunately $120 for a quarter isn't that uncommon thanks to low supply and the fact that they can charge it

but at the same time, $120 is fairly common for a half.

$50 / 7g = about $7/gram. Canada ftw.

He's sort of a "dealer." I've bought from him a few times before, but this was the first time I could weigh it out.

He's usually in a hurry to make the deal quick, so I really really doubt it that he expected me to smoke him out or something. Plus, it's a bit hard to just smoke someone out because we both live in dorms in a university.

Or just, you know a "hey, it was short x amount" might work...?

wow . jest wow . In seattle you get 7.0 g for 50-60 tops for the high end. i am so sorry you have to deal with this shit. 1.keep your standards high. 2. ask him how much it is supposed to weighed out to. 5. don't get high and make comments on Reddit if u cant finish them.

just call him and tell him that the bag is short. if he's legit, he'll take care of it. if not, he's not worth your time anyway; move on.

just be honest and straightforward. i really doubt he's going to roll out on your ass for disrespecting him over a .6 short.
