Should Bygones be byegone?

PvP PC

[Bygones]

  • Adaptive 390 Pulse Rifle

  • Corkscrew Rifling/ Extended Barrel

  • Appended Mag/ Flared Magwell

  • Kill Clip

  • Outlaw

Okay I've gotten the desired Outlaw+Kill Clip perks but i have questions about the barrels and mag. I'd like some opinions if you'd be so kind. Should I keep farming to hunt down a Bygones with Arrowhead Break and Ricochet Rounds? If I were to stick to this roll should I run Corkscrew with a CB or take the extra range and recoil from Extended and add CB to that?

Note: I have not taken this thing into PvP so I don't quite know how it feels (yet).

The main allure of Arrowhead Break is that it frees up the mod slot, which is huge in PvE. But in PvP you'd probably be just fine using the mod slot for Counterbalance, unless there's something else you really want there.

You have another week to keep grinding this thing, so depending on your situation you might want to keep going.

thanks for the response, I have a lot of fractaline so I'll probably hang onto this one and see if i can farm up a better one. I do like the idea of the added handling that Arrowhead adds too.

Anyone have an argument for Byegones over Blast Furnace? Just feels like no contest between the two, with even remotely decent rolls on BF.

Blast furnace has worse handling and long zoom, and is less forgiving. I have a godrolls of both and use blast furnace on widows court and bygones on everything else. For me personally, the rate of fire and timing between trigger pulls feels better on Bygones, plus more bulletds to the head faster means more flinch.

I was able to hunt down a blast furnace that fixes the handling and comes with short zoom scopes (got one with quickdraw + kill clip + tactical mag and a reload MW) it reloads almost as fast as feeding frenzy and has super snappy handling due to quickdraw.

Hey you do you man, the best gun is the game is the one you're comfortable getting kills with.

agreed, if you can't use a gun (or dont like using a type of gun) you wont do nearly as well as using a weapon you like

Awesome thank you for your perspective, I'm still learning some of the nuances in assessment.

Blast furnace is longer range, and high risk high reward. It can two burst, but requires all 8 bullets to hit, and 6 of them to be crits. If you don’t 2 burst that third burst takes significantly longer. Damage perks obviously help it, but not massively. You will never one burst which means they just help the hit percentage you need to get the kill.

Bygones isn’t as long range, but is long enough that it doesn’t matter on most maps. Some people(me included prefer the shorter zoom on it for most encounters. It can’t 2burst normally(5crit 2 body is optimal), but only requires 7/9 bullets for optimal time to kill. With killclip, it CAN 2 burst which is a massive boost. I run bygones with missile titan(getting buffed LETS GO). Sliding through ammo makes it so it can two burst as well.

NOTE: I have an outlaw killclip bygones, and a dropmag QuickDraw killclip blast furnace. I use bygones normally, and blast furnace on long range maps where I want to out range people, or flinch snipers.
