Yay, another douchecanoe who doesn't understand that 40 weeks =/= 10 months or that those 40 weeks don't begin at conception 🙄

ghostlyformsOP•

Or like someone has already mentioned, many babies aren’t born at exactly 40 weeks anyway 🤷🏼

dustirc•

Literally all three of mine didn't hit 40 weeks. Not a one. It's way more common than people think.

nezzthecatlady•

My siblings and I too. Oldest was just naturally early. I was induced 20 days early without my mom’s consent (it’s own dramatic story). Youngest went into distress and was induced a month early.

7
PhoenixDogsWifeySeason of Snark•

I took theirs, I was 20+ days late ( cause that happened in the 80s)

3
dustirc•

You were 20 days late??? Why? They could absolutely induce in the 80s.

3
LendYouBrokenFarts•

EXACTLY

4
patientish•

I usually hear it on mom groups. I get that pregnancy is hard, but I want to know how they get that every month has exactly 4 weeks to the day.

28
carriekate•

My mom group had a bunch of people arguing that 12 weeks was “technically” 3 months old.

The comment I found him with:

We live in a society in which women are encouraged to become educators of other people’s children instead of educators of their own children. If you want to see a better, thriving America, promote homeschool moms.

🙃🙃🙃

Maybe because the women who educate other people’s children are very educated themselves and are literally trained in what children of whatever age they teach are supposed to be learning and now how to help them and deal with other issues they may be facing.

Also, men can be teachers too 🙄

I just looked up your flair 💀😂

A guy in my class used that verse in our year book

Urgh, this dragged memories from a deep dark corner of my brain. My fundie-lite middleschool peers back in the day used to be like, "Ooooh you're born in November? Happy valentine's day to mom and dad 😏."

Anything to talk about sex in a god honoring way, I guess. The purity culture and sex obsession made for some weeeird insults & interests.

Petraretrograde•

Someone on twitter said that valentines day was invented by scorpios to create more scorpios. I like that very much.

I was a premie! No fair! 😂

I know a girl who figured out that her conception date was VERY LIKELY September 21st. So, at her wedding, when her parents entered, she had them come in to the song “Do you remember? The twwwweeenty-first dayyy of September?”

31
kittykittyfluffSTEP BACK UNLESS YOU WANT A CHICK TRACT•

Why 10 months instead of 9? Can fundies not do math, or can I not?

26
get_stilley0218Jilldos 6th toe🦶🏼•

Pregnancy is 40 weeks, which roughly translates to 10 months. But the first 4 you aren't "really" pregnant.

18
MmeBoumBoum•

No, 40 weeks is still closer to 9 months (if all months were equal, it would be 9 months and one week). Also, while it's calculated from the last menstrual period, doctors often adjust it based on ultrasound measurements when the woman has longer cycles.

If someone really wanted to know their conception date, the easiest way to get a good guess would be to subtract 38 weeks (subtract 9 months then add a week) from their due date--not their birthday.

34
christiancocaine•

For the best accuracy, have artificial insemination!

8

Yup! I know my kids' conception dates! Thank you, science!

2
kittykittyfluffSTEP BACK UNLESS YOU WANT A CHICK TRACT•

That's so confusing. I've always heard 9 months.

Also, this means I was probably conceived via birthday sex.

14
get_stilley0218Jilldos 6th toe🦶🏼•

It's because you aren't 100% sure when you ovulate (for the most part), so they count off your last period start. Like the earliest you can really find out your pregnant is about 4 weeks, and at that point you're "about 1-2" weeks actually pregnant lol. It's really Confusing.

18
gingermontreal•

You're right. It is 9 months. 40 weeks is 10 months only if every month only had 28 days. 40 weeks is more or less 9 months.

4
gingermontreal•

40 weeks is closer to 9 months because each month has 30 or 31 days, not 28 (7 days x 4weeks). 40 weeks is 280 days. Let's say that each month has 30 days, 280 divided by 30 equals a little over nine months.

7
romancingit•

My eldest was born at 40+5 from ultrasound but I know the date she was conceived. From banging to birth it was 8 months, 3 weeks. That is 38weeks, 3days. I have six weeks cycles so initially they wanted to take my date from 4 weeks prior to the actual conception date, but thankfully the ultrasound agreed with my timings. So if you look at the extra two weeks they add on from the first day of your last period, it works out to roughly 40 weeks. Along of pregnancies goes on past the 9 month mark into the ‘10th month’ hence the confusion.

gingermontreal•

"from banging to birth"

I love it!

Joke’s on you, because I was a SINFUL IVF baby AND a preemie. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, up yours!!!

22
carriekate•

I can’t wait until my kid is old enough to tell him he was in the freezer for 2 years after he was conceived 😂

16
Lydia--charming•

Gross. Why do they want to think about that?

Side anecdote: I had always heard repeatedly growing up when strangers asked how far apart in age my sister and I were, “two years and nine months.” At some point you put 2 and 2 together. :|

15
the-electric-monk•

They're a sex cult, despite their disgust with sex. Everything they think and do revolves around it.

3
Lydia--charming•

You’re so right!!

1
momofwon•

Fun fact, I was born in mid-September which is the most popular time of year for babies to be born.

Lots of people getting down around Christmas and New Year’s...

11

I am a result of Dad’s birthday. I wish I could delete this from my mind.

4
copacetic1515•

A lot of my friends were born in March, so... Happy Memorial Day?

1
Mutnodjmet•

I was born in March and I was conceived at a 4th of July Yard sale.

11
copacetic1515•

I'm not sure I want to know how you know that, haha!

2
Mutnodjmet•

Lol my mom has no tact or filter and says whatever comes to mind

1
hampatnat•

2 of my 3 were born late August and early September. Yep.

1
kat_a_klysmMy husband is Mr. Struggle•

Mine is mid August. Got to love that post-turkey coitus. Although she could’ve been a birthday gift for my husband; his birthday is usually within a day or two of Thanksgiving.

1
altarcall•

Oh my God...my niece was my SIL's birthday gift and my nephew was my brother's.

I don't think I wanted to know that.

3
MustangLover22•

Yeah...I was born in March when my due date was actually in june...so i don't think i count in this thing.

10
teamgaycrossfitSheisthegay•

Is it bad that I actually did count back ten months out of curiosity? I hate myself

8
slanid•

Lol luckily you’d have to have a lot more information, like exact week + day you were born, and your moms cycle length (ovulation day) to get a real date.

13
vanpireweekemdJRod's Sixth Toe•

i did 9 and coincidentally, today would be the day for me!!!!!

4
copacetic1515•

Happy "Life Day" to you! /s

6
vanpireweekemdJRod's Sixth Toe•

hahaha thanks 😂 i think i was a couple days late though so i'm not sure how accurate this is 😂

3
PitifulParfait•

Huh. I was conceived around bonfire night (went off with a bang, presumably).

I now know that a LOT of my friends were Valentine’s bangs...

8
periperigirl123•

that would be the first day my mom clear from period before conceiving me, but not everyone was born exactly same term moron

7
vekeso•

Lol I know my whole story behind my conception. Mom wanted a motorcycle or a second baby, dad hates motorcycles boom baby vekeso less than a year later

5
knittininthemittenJRod’s Ceramic Raccoon•

Yeah, at most that’s the time that your mom was on her period before conceiving you. WHAT A FUN THING TO KNOW.

5
Ladidiladidah•

Well, someone who allegedly has a Master's in education just proved they don't bother with research. Or sex ed.

5

Should we forward this idea on to Hallmark?

4

Despite the fact the math is off. They don’t seem to know that they’re actually celebrating their mums last period before conception.

2

Joke’s on him, I already know which day I was conceived, because my fundie-lite parents told me.

(It was Valentine’s Day. All of their children were conceived on Valentine’s Day. Yes, I would like to unlearn this.)

2
sleepy_doggosI can see your collarbone you slut•

Is that the only day they ever had sex?

2

Doubtful, but by the same token I don’t think they were just super enthusiastic about having kids with November birthdays. I didn’t ask too many questions after that tidbit was revealed.

2
sleepy_doggosI can see your collarbone you slut•

Haha understandable

2
kilowatkins•

Wow. I wish i could help you unlearn it.

If it helps, there's a non-zero chance I was conceived on the fifth hole of the golf course I worked at a couple years back. My mom told me that while drinking at a party.
