Fun fact: Marcos Alonso has scored more goals in the Premier League (3) this calendar year than all 3 of Chelsea’s strikers combined.

He’s a left back... and he’s only played two of those matches

Awful stat for our attackers

GreenPickledToad•

Wait, we have attackers?

31
ord3pAzpilicueta•

I don’t even know what is that attacker thing you people keep talking about

2
pfool•

We never replaced Costa or Hazard.

8
DiegoAR13•

Will never replace Costa tbh, at least he played with passion, not like the strikers we have now

4
seriouslybrohuh•

Costa is the only good striker we have had since Drogba left 8-9 years ago - this should be a source of major concern for whoever the recruiting director is.

(This doesn't count Abraham since this is first full season with us and he is injured currently)

5
sosawof•

Sorry but it does count abraham, he is not and will not be chelsea material and it’s obvious

-2
cnealy•

Mount has 1 goal in 27 games.

Crossing my fingers and hoping Ziyech, RLC, Boga, provide more competition

21
EnergetikNA•

Man if we go a whole year without spending and the only attackers we sign are Ziyech (40m reportedly) and Boga, I'd be disappointed.

Needs to be a big summer. United seemingly are starting to make better signings with James, Maguire, and Fernandes. Liverpool/City are already miles ahead, Spurs have Mourinho now so they're probably gonna spend for him too.

Not without some cash

5
EnergetikNA•

Remember when we were all worried who would score goals for us at the start of the season?

Then we started off well and players like Mount/Tammy were showing up?

Yeah, what's happening now is what we were worried of. Not much Lampard can do either, injuries suck and we just don't have the depth for it (and some players are heavily out of form).

6
haekz•

It's really unlucky to have 5 injuries to some of our best players at the same time

3
Sw3atyGoalz•

Lampard did a pretty poor job managing the team’s fitness when everyone was healthy through the November-December period. Pulisic, Mount, Tammy and Kante have been very overplayed this season.

-1
EnergetikNA•

Wouldn't say Kante or Pulisic have overplayed but the other 2, I definitely agree

6
Sw3atyGoalz•

After he scored his hat trick, Pulisic started every single game we played up until our first match against Tottenham almost 2 months later, and then proceeded to get injured the very next match, rushed back for the Brighton match, and then got injured again.

Kante was more earlier in the season when he was rushed back from injury against Liverpool, played the full 90, and then was out for another few weeks because of it.

2
Reborno•

He's been so poor this season bar the opening weeks.

no he hasnt lol

Can anyone fill me in on this meme

2

You can say it after anything that ends in ‘er’ because it sounds like ‘her’. It’s not a meme so much as a dad joke.

Christ, what an obnoxious novelty account.

12
WarOnHugs•

We definitely need to upgrade this position. Giroud is physically past it, Bats is a lost cause, and I don't see enough in Tammy to believe that he can be a number 9 for a top club.

16
_off_piste_•

Timo Werner could probably be had this summer. He’s sitting on 21 goals 7 assists in 23 matches.

Werner, Lewandowski(25/3), and Sancho(14/14) are each responsible for 28 goals this season. It won’t happen but could you imagine adding two of the top three Bundesliga goal producers to our lineup along with Ziyech? Still wouldn’t fix our defensive issues but that would be a fun team to watch.

2
WeeTooLo•

Werner is made for Liverpool.

He'd be lost in our system of million passes and zero counterattacks.

When Germany was in Confederations Cup in 2017 they played quick counterattacks with a young team and he was a one man wrecking crew.

A year later in WC 2018 they brought in all the veterans to play this shitty possesion football and Werner looked lost and couldn't finish for shit because he had to constantly shoot through walls of defenders.

_off_piste_•

Interesting. Thanks for the input.

2
FUTURA_TrUnKs•

Yikes. The “Tammy is a world class talent and needs time” brigade is not going to like this.

WateryIcedCoffee•

How many matches has Tammy played this calendar year? Mans been injured more often than not - makes it tougher to score when you don’t play

35
aacod15•

I don’t understand people. At the start of the season it was all about giving our youth players time to develop but when they get out of form they start to hate on them.

25
WateryIcedCoffee•

Right?? These are guys who have grown up bleeding blue - all of sudden in their first season at the top level when their form dips a bit (which is largely in part to fatigue and injuries Im sure) they’re all shit. Gotta love this fanbase sometimes!

16
Nast33•

Only his form hasn't 'dipped a bit' even with the injuries. He had a tiny purple patch the start of the season when he had 7 in 3 - then it was back to his expected level of how many, 6 in 22? He's backup at best. A new striker is needed, Tammy is not cutting it and should fight for the spot next year.

-6
istockusername•

I mean is Tammy really out of form? Like he is clearly not even fit at the moment.

3
wowbanterlad•

I get not being fit but he has like 6 in his last 28 or so appearances, that's definitely 'out of form'

1
Zimakov•

It's almost as if different people have different opinions.

1
Zimakov•

How many matches has Tammy played this calendar year?

He's played 6 matches and scored 1 goal.

Way to put words in my mouth lmfao - Tammy isn’t world class, not yet at least. Just adding some context 🙄

2†

But would you eat his ass

-3†
aacod15•

He has also scored 3 more goals than the Premier leagues leading goal scorer this year.

11
tr_24•

Want to make it look worse? He has scored as many goals this year in the league as Giroud, Tammy, Bats, CHO, Pedro, Willian, Pulisic, RLC, Barkley, Mount, Kovacic and Kante combined.

8
taammon•

Pulisic, Tammy, RLC, and CHO have all been injured for most of this year's games so I don't really see the point including them

15
tr_24•

I know that. Should read my first line.

0†
taammon•

"Want to make it look worse?"

Alonso has scored more goals for Chelsea in 2020 than Baxter, Blackman, Ampadu, Juan Castillo, Trevoh Chalobah, Clarke-Salter, Josh Grant, Guehi, Miazga, Nartey, Baba Rahman, Dujon Sterling, Zappacosta, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Gallagher, Kenedy, Maddox, George McEachran, Moses, Musonda, Nathan, Pasalic, Piazon, Charlie Brown, Izzy Brown, and Ike Ugbo combined.

To be fair both Giroud and Bats have started a handful games all season. Hard to expect top performances from people who haven't been playing.

4

Alonso wasn’t playing either though

6
haaaaaairy1•

But Alonso is fuelled by the boos

1

That’s true lol

1
SKAI-Gaming•

I mean tbf our main striker has spent most games on the bench and only comes in for 10 or so mins. And mitchy well mitchy is dog shit

3
Zimakov•

Our "main striker" has 6 goals in his last 20 matches, and 2 in his last 11. He's lucky to have played as much as he has.
