I really like your color theme. Could you explain how you got that result?
Thanks! I based the model in black then drybrushed the armor and clothes in zandri dust, washed with nuln oil and then drybrushed again. After that I did a light drybrush of ushabti bone and washed them again with seraphim sepia. Then a careful highlight of ushabti bone on the edges of the armor (not the interior ridges) then a final highlight of screaming skull.
The skin is done in the same way except I stopped at ushabti bone. The eyes and forehead ridges are screaming skull.
The cloak and boots are based in rhinox hide, washed with nuln oil then drybrushed with bane blade brown and washed again with agrax earthshade for an cracked leather look.
you have a unique and visually striking scheme.
the contrasting two-tone black and bone colors with a couple spots of eye-catching red in key details looks great.
i could imagine some really fun lore for your cult. subterranean dwellers who haven't seen the light of a star in their life.
what's your personal lore for them out of curiosity?
Thanks. I don't really have any lore per se, I'm not very creative when it comes to stuff like, that but the color scheme is a derivative of my tyranid paint scheme based on the bald faced hornet. The base was designed to resemble a hornet's nest.
How did you get that design on the base?
Elmer's school glue in a thin layer with a layer of thin super glue on top applied in droplets with a syringe. As it dries it creates random patterns.
Thank you!
I love your dudes. If Sin City had a Genestealer Cult, it would be your dudes.
Sin City-style genestealer hybrids... Somehow that is a perfect crossover.
Thanks! That's not the effect I was going for but it's a cool comparison.
Yeah, they do a convincing bald faced hornet as well - but your Primus here really reminded me of the art style from Sin City for some reason. I think it was the touch of red paired with all that high-contrast (not quite) black and (off) white.
