Anyone else see a bunch of satellites in the sky over the TV last night on wednesday? Starlink or something? Never seen so many at once but definitely not meteors or planes. Seen plenty of those for plenty of years and they weren't that. Every minute or two. And they behaved oddly. Not like other satellites I've seen. Looked very similar to stars, but moving slowly, and would fade in and out (tumbling?). Sometimes just a quick flash of light in one spot. Sometimes moving and then fading out. Looking towards Table Rock and Bogus at a high angle craning the neck back. I counted about 15 in 20 minutes.

Strange New Worlds

Discussion 📝

The best new Star Trek since DS9? Worth discussing I think. Feels perfectly on tone and theme while also delivering enough humorous and entertaining moments to keep me invested. About to start S2 after loving S1.

The bearer has a +4 invulnerable save. In addition, add 1 to the armour saving throws made for the bearer.

Does this mean you add +1 to armor saving throws using both invulnerable and normal armor saves, or just normal armor saves?

My question is what would the maintain pin check on the round you intend to Tie Up a pinned target with rope be? Would you need to use a move action to get rope out, then take a -4 for having only one hand on the CMB+5 check, effectively making the bonus to maintain only +1? Or is a pin effect automatic without taking the negative for one hand manipulating a rope? What do you all think is the right or best interpretation? Version A or B of the third round in the example below. Am I doing this all correctly? I've looked at the flow charts and googled my heart out but haven't seen a specific answer about this aspect of the Tie Up pin effect.

It would be cool if your flight bar began the regeneration cool down as soon as a leg was in contact with something solid. Just a small thing, but as soon as I got it for the first time I wondered why this wasn't the case.

Would love to see more mutations. Reminds me of Demonspawn in Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup.

Disappointed to see all the elite characters from the GSC list are classified as Commanders. I was hoping the 40k elites would be able to be used as Leaders. We are spoiled for choice at Commander, and bereft of it at Leader.

Ah, well. Making the best of it-- which character is the greatest value to take as Commander for the points? Primus with Pauper Princes and Ferocity seems like it might be really good. Hitting and wounding on a 2+ with their Toxin Injector Claw and the melee +hit aura to support Acolytes (best KT unit?) seems really solid.

Not impressed by the Locus or Patriarch for the points costs in a 200 point game where we need bodies. Sanctus with Bio-Dagger could be nasty. Kel

I'm so far a purely Tyranid player facing Astra Militarum, Chaos, and Space Wolves opponents in casual to semi-casual games. I'd like to eventually play a little more seriously but that's a long ways down the road. I own two battalions of 'nids coming out to about 1675 so far:

Kraken Battalion Broodlord, Swarmlord, 2x20 Genestealers, and a few Rippers.

Kronos Battalion 2 Neurothropes, 10x3 basic Termagants, 6 Hive Guard, and a Tyrannofex.

My question to the GSC experts in this forum is, "What GSC units do I mix in with 300ish points to spare to hit 2k?" I was thinking of something like a GSC Vanguard with a Magus, Sanctus, Kelermorph, and 10 Metamorphs with dual talons. I already own the

If you have a unit of Bladed Cog Neophytes loaded in a moving Goliath with mining lasers targeting a unit marked by an Alphus, within 6" of that Alphus, do they have 5+, 4+, or 3+ to hit with their mining lasers?

I get that auras don't affect embarked units and embarked units don't count as being on the table. And embarked units with an aura couldn't provide their aura. However, the open-topped rule for the Goliath states that the embarked unit gets "any restrictions or modifiers that apply to this model". So would the modifier from the aura be transferred by the Goliath to the Neophytes for a +1 to hit on their target?

Secondarily, would the Goliath moving transfer the -1 to hit with heav

A hand flamer seems so dramatically better than the autopistol for just 1 point. Does it make sense to bump up the cost of the already expensive 230 point Rock Saw squad to 250 to get HFs on everyone? Would that not be clearly better for a relatively trivial increase in points overall, or am I missing something? Seems like it would open up more tactical options for them, especially in regards to taking out GEQ screening and chaff units. First priority with this unit is of course getting the saws into something extremely valuable, but it seems like having HFs over autopistols is a bonus that shouldn't be passed up as the cherry on top of the ridiculous damage output of the saws.

I, like many of you, have a big pile of genestealers from untold numbers of sources. They arrived in Space Hulk, Tyranid armies of the past, stowed aboard cargo containers on a space freighter... So, what to do when you have 20, 40, or even 60+ genestealers? Purestrain in GSC as elites with a point premium makes them not very appealing to take in bulk for a pure mono-cult. I'm looking to use those genestealers in bulk as an efficient way to jumpstart a GSC. Which leads me to the obvious alternative.

How do you compose a Hive Fleet Kraken detachment to support a GSC army based around genestealers?

  1. Is there a GSC Cult Creed or GSC unit/character that particularly complements a Kraken ste

The Day of Ascension is upon us!

I'm a Warhammer 40k newbie and am looking for your help, my Brood Brothers and Sisters. I've read the new Codex front-to-back and have the Tooth and Claw and Starn's Disciples boxes in hand. Looking for a 2k list to slowly build towards for the long haul while I paint and assemble and save for Acolyte boxes. Would love constructive criticism and critique. Feel like I need a reality check before I start sinking money into the many troop boxes that the following list would require as I, myself, am a neophyte.

I love the fluff for the Cult of the Four-Armed Emperor, their color scheme, and the mechanics of reliable advances and charges with a side of CP genera
