Dissertation proofreader
I’m not sure if I can ask about this here.
I’m attempting to finish my dissertation and I’m at my wit’s end. Actually, my committee and me are at our wit’s end. The stupid thing is driving me nuts and I just want it over with.
Are there any academic proofreaders? I’m happy to pay. Background: dissertation is on disability and science Anglophone literature post 45. I’m at a state university PhD program. Committee cochairs went to Ivy League schools so they thrive off insanity.

Can't give you place-specific advice since I assume you are in the US but I would hazard a guess that most proofreaders have an academic degree, so you won't need an 'academic' proofreader per se. So, Google?
That said, walking around my campus I always see ads for proofreading services. If there are none, you could send an email to your department admin. Alternatively, if your uni has an accessibility/disability department, they probably cater to dyslexic students, and could point you to their contacts.
