They're going to lose their shit with this post. But you're right. It will be back but not anytime soon. They haven't even started quarantining major cities yet in the west, just wait until people don't know where there next pay check is coming from.

Only invest what you can afford to lose. Right?

doesn't 'recession' also imply that fiat-money will be worthless? So we should cash out our worthless coins for worthless paper? Good thinking

Nope, money is worth more in a recession. Are you ready for some of that sweet sweet deflation that hodlers love so much?

What will happen with fiat currencies when the global recession hits?

Governments will start printing money to prop up dying economy.

I mean sure, fiat might be less risky now, but I'd say there are no safe assets now.

People rush to safety and liquidity, pay attention, it's been happening for a while. People want cash, there is a liquidity crunch.

You can't pay your rent in bitcoin, you can't pay your medical bills or groceries. It's useless in a global recession.

True, but there are also people who want to preserve their wealth. They are probably not the same people who struggle to pay their rent.

Stocks, bonds and real estate are out for now. Cash might not be the best way to preserve wealth if the government will announce a trillion dollar stimulus. (Just for a reference, China injected equivalent of $170B in early February.)

Those people already own the assets that preserve wealth. They don't need to buy an arbitrary digital token. To what end? So that they can preserve their wealth and buy the mansions/art/boats/jets that they already have? They don't need BTC. Nobody does.

Trump wants to pump the stock market, that money isn't going to cause inflation.

i dont think stock or bonds are out just yet. sure they are taking a hit but history has told us they will bounce bak in the long run, if u can afford to wait that long. Gold might be a decent investment but i dont really have any experience in it. precious metels in general might be good but if u are leaving the market now it is quite possible that u are too late.

Oh look bitcoin is actually tested in a global liquidity crunch and it fucking crumbles.
