How are you guys not getting this... Mat made a joke, turned out to be brutal foreshadowing as Egwene "dressed down" Rand during the last battle... with the world ending.

My favourite gender roles peice in wheel of time is this one, I am going entirely off memory so I might have it wrong.

There is a saying in the two rivers, although the meaning usually changes depending on who is saying it. "It's always a mans fault."

Me too. She is clearly my top favorite character. I was crying tears of joy and sadness at the same time during her final hours.

She is just so epic and the voice acting by Kate Reading is just on spot.

Maybe because she is acting against Rand for most of the time and doesn't just follow him like most others in the series (Ta'veren yadayada). I had moments where I was shouting at her why she doesn't just see that Rand needs to do this or that. Or during the scene where he meets with her after defeating the Shadow on Dragonmount and she is hesitant because she thinks he lost his sanity.
Like, girl this is the first time he is truly sane. But thinking about it twice her actions make sense and are how most of us would act if faced with a similar situation.

What I really love about her is her devotion to learning and how she is in a sense the first Aes Sedai in a long time to truly live up to the title.

The bit that annoyed me most was the seals. Yes the Amyrlin is the "watcher of the seals" but Rand bloody created them! The Aes Sedai knew nothing about, and didn't even have any of the seals until very recently either, yet Egwene just casually assumed ownership of them.

I appreciate that RJ gave pretty equal screen time to women saying "Men!" And men saying "Women!" And no, I'm not being sexist, it's a somewhat comedic reflection of what many of us do today. Men are from Mars, women are from Randland.
