Question about commute from Brookline/Brighton to South End

Hi, I am considering accepting a job in the south end, currently on a 1 year lease in an apt near St. E's Hospital in Brighton. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what the commute is like between these two areas at peak hours (7amish, 5pmish). Last week I checked google maps every day and it said about 20 mins, but half the city isn't working right now so I don't know if this guesstimate is accurate. Thanks.

I could see it being 45 minutes with traffic, but it's a fairly short commute

I’ve been doing exactly this commute for a long time and usually it takes me about 23 minutes from Washington st to ink block. Cambridge st is the worst part

You could bike! It’ll take probably 30-40 minutes depending how far you are. I bike to Seaport when the weather is nicer from Brighton and it takes me about 45 minutes depending on traffic. Never longer than that though
