Just close the state down. Schools are closed, restaurants closed, business closed. Do it now. Save lives. Yesterday EMTs came into my house wearing no protection. That's very dangerous just going into people's houses like that.
If the first responders fall, we fall too. Doctors and nurses and ambulance crews cannot get sick, and they are not taking this threat seriously. Order tests for all first responders. Remove the sick ones from duty so they can heal and return to work when others get sick. We can't lose our front line of defense.
North Carolina should be the first state to shut down and lead by example. People still want to go out and do things but we can't anymore. Every day people keep spreading this, the worse it will become. Flatten the curve now.
In 2 weeks the silent carriers of today will need hospital beds. In 3 weeks the newly infected will need hospital beds. In 4 weeks those new infected will need hospital beds.
Shut it down now. Worry about the bills later.
Do it for every pregnant woman who won't have access to a hospital.

Tell doctors/nurses/EMT to stay home?
Tell grocery stores to close doors?
Tell Uber drivers, independent contractors, truck drivers, gas stations, all the close down?

If the original projections of the spread of this virus were true, 90% of the population of the earth would already be infected. It's not. The virus has now spread to approximately 0.0000002% of the population of the world.
Let's take this a step farther by examining the Diamond Princess. Even aboard a closed environment, the virus had an infection rate of about 17%. Of the 600 or so that were infected, fully half were totally asymptomatic. 300 showed symptoms and two died. Two...out of 3700 exposed to the virus. That is 0.0005%.
So yeah... I think your losing your mind in a panic of misinformation and a lack of critical thinking.

If we have only 100,000 ventilators in the entire USA, and 200,000 get pneumonia, that's a fucking problem. If every hospital is full then how will people with broken bones or emergencies get in?
You're not thinking past the death toll. If you think doctors here won't be forced to decide who lives and who dies, like in Italy. Think again.
