My job makes me exempt from the quarantine and curfew. AMA

I do industrial sanitation. I clean food processing plants.

My employer gave us letters to use as an exemption in case we get pulled over for violating quarantine or curfew if they impose a hard one soon which they might.

AMA.

My friend just got told not to return to work but he's on a clinics janitors staff. Are you worried you may be deemed non essential at some point?

What kind of idiot would call sanitation non-essential?

They are contracted through a third party, so I have a feeling whatever sanitation staff may be hired directly by the hospital or clinics are working double time.

They would have to close the plant for that to happen and I highly highly doubt the US would risk shutting down food production.

If we're not there to clean then the plant is stuck producing only one product and the next day of production they would have old food in their product, old food which could have various diseases such as e. coli and samonella.

You have a curfew where you live?

There's a possibility of one being put into place and I work overnights.

Do you fear catching it? Do you have a family you go home, if so what is your routine after you get home from work? Do you think this is being blown out of proportion?

Do you fear catching it?

Not from work, I work with hardly anyone.

Do you have a family you go home, if so what is your routine after you get home from work?

I live with my parents, I'm only 23. When I get home I change, wash my hands and arms and go to bed.

Do you think this is being blown out of proportion?

Yup. It's serious but not world ending. This virus has nothing on the Spanish Flu or The Plague.
