[21/m] Terrible self-confidence/self-image problems. I would like to get some outside opinions.

Just some info about me: I've had my self-confidence/image problems for as long as I can remember. Never had a girlfriend, forever alone, etc. The picture of me with longer hair is from a few weeks ago. The other two are from today. Got the glasses this week. I've been reading r/fitness and r/loseit nonstop, and have been doing cardio/weightlifting for 4 weeks now. I weighed 226 before I started improving myself, but haven't been able to find a scale since. I've been seeing real improvements. I seem have a big waist and thighs, but now my size 42 pants are feeling really lose. If you want any other info just ask.

Edit: Any opinions on my glasses?

HONESTY

The first thing I noticed is that your eyes seemed quite close together, giving you a bit of a derp facial expression (based word I could use to describe it). Keep up the weightlifting and cardio and I think you can make yourself relatively attractive, though regardless of your body, you won't be winning any awards. You're a bit too large now, but clearly you know that.

Keep it up dude.

If he works out (cardio like you said), his face will become thinner. I had the same problem and lost 45lbs in less than a year and my face thinned out.

You're a handsome guy! You look very sheepish- trying to change your attitude might help as much as trying to be more fit. But your appearance should certainly not be an obstacle to talking to girls.

Keep up the working out/weight loss regime. You look like you have a handsome face and a nice jawline hiding under there. Your lips are nice and full and I really dig thick manly eyebrows on guys. I think with some more weight loss and such you will be pretty good looking.

Yeah, try smiling or some kind of facial expression. You look angry or bemused or something.

Keep up with your routine work outs, try to stay clean shaven (best you can, I know it's a pain), and maybe consider growing your hair out (instead of the shaved looked)..something a little more stylized. Also, try to smile and not look so defeated, it's not over yet.

Any suggestions for my hair? That's a good description, "defeated."

I'm not good with "terms" when it comes to hair cuts, lol. Not a "fade" to be exact but a little shorter on the sides and longer on the top, you have great hair for that.

you have a similar face to my brother and myself, what seems to work for us best is 4-6 inch length of hair that we let naturally curl, makes for a cute look... You look good with and with out glasses, i guess it just depends on how you feel with them on pluck your eye brows around the bridge of your nose to so that they don't go to close together...

You don't have to lose weight to look good, just maybe change your looks a little bit smile with more enthusiasm and be confident :D

but yeah losing weight is always a good idea, keeps you healthy and will help you be more confident...

you facial features are set close together, but your face is round. keep losing weight and this will take care of itself.

head to fittit, educate yourself, attack.

what are you doing for cardio?

Right now I'm doing an hour on the elliptical machine. I'm setting it on fat burn, which recommends 130 bpm. I probably should make a post on fittit for an audit of my current routines.

BTW, thanks for telling me my face's shape, I could never really figure that out.

little passive aggressive there eh?

fittit will tell you to do free weights and HIIT, and they will be right. instead of doing an hour on the elliptical on "fat burn", do 15-20 min on it full out sprints for 30 sec, walk for 90.

You look like the loneliest person on the planet in those pictures cause of your facial expression. Can we have a picture if you smiling?

Keep up with working out!

Oh, and not really digging the glasses... but good job on trying something new. Keep messing around with other frames to see if something works better for you.

Updated, check out the new picture. I took it at the same time, but I don't really like the way my smile looks, even when it's voluntary...if that makes sense.

Awesome, thanks for the update. Haha, I think your smile is really good, actually. Keep fucking smiling. Compare your second and third pics to your fourth pic.

Of course, it's just like the others said -- work out and keep doing it. Get p90x and do that every day for 90 days. I've been meaning to do it myself. People are concerned with their features and whatnot... and while those are important, I don't think they're as important as being fit in terms of attractiveness.

I'd like to see what you look like with a beard... but I'd definitely shave the stache every day. I don't grow much facial hair, and I don't look good with any. Because it doesn't irritate my skin, I'm able to shave my stache at a downwards angle, rinse + lather again, then shave up carefully. No stubble! Let me know if you want some general shaving tips. :)

You look good, but need polishing! Girls notice little things like hair cuts and eyebrows and that's what tells us if you are high-value; that you bothered to groom yourself.

  • Go get your eyebrows profesionally groomed.
  • Go get a good haircut, and get some hair wax/gel and spike it up a bit or get the hairdresser (not barber, hairdresser) to tell you how to style it.
  • Use a strong toner on your face; it helps to keep your skin looking fresh and will make your pores tighter and it will just overall look cleaner.
  • Glasses are good, I like the dark framed ones that are a bit bold.
  • Keep losing the weight but don't worry too much, as long as you're on the road there might as well look good on the way.
  • Go buy really awesome clothes... clothes make the man sounds cliche but it's so true.
