I have tried setting the fan to manual and customized to no avail. I have also tried the "Active Fan" and "Semi Passive" modes. Flashed with F4_beta which did not help either. I have seen them spin up once before Windows started loading.

Really disappointed that this problem wasn't found in QA.

Still not having any luck with girls. On a positive note, my old post had my weight in it -- I have lost 20 pounds. I have been lifting and doing cardio this entire time.

My hair in the pic with the green shirt was done by a professional barber. The rest, my mom cut my hair. Need to go back to a barber. Also, ignore any neckbeard since it has been the weekend. I sometimes shave my neck and go with a few more days growth.

Specs: Asus Z97-Pro (Wifi AC), 4790k, 16gb, Corsair HX1000i, Asus 970 Strix, Samsung 830 256gb, windows 8.1 64-bit

Method of windows installation: 32GB PNY USB3

Description of problem: Whenever I plug in a usb device to my computer, windows 8.1 will come up with the blue alert that a new device has been detected, then immediately both of my screens will go blank for a couple of seconds, then come back on. The problem happens regardless of combinations of USB2/3 ports and devices.

Story: I decided to re-install windows this weekend, and I noticed the above problem. Funny thing is that the problem doesn't happen before I install nvidia drivers. I have tried reinstalling, and have tried bot

Some background: we sit one seat apart from each other, with the middle seat empty. we had previously worked on some homework and projects together, but for the latest one, she decided to go with another group. Last thursday, I was in state, and it rubbed off in my interactions with other classmates before class. Later that evening, she texts me with "oh yea its fantastic".

what should I do/say back to her?

EDIT: A bit more context. She had invited to go with her on spring break at the last minute, but the plans fell through. Before that, one day after class we were working on a project and we sat next to each other, think she gave me some IOIs, but didn't try to k-close.

(This is an update from this post.)

Well, I got a Magni in today, and did some testing both with my 595s and the 650s. Honestly I don't notice much a difference when paired with my 595. With the 650, it does seem to help slightly, but I still don't like the signature. Maybe the clamp is distracting me.

Maybe it's me personally, or more likely these specific phones, but I'm not seeing much difference with the Magni.

I'm going to return the 650s and try either the q701, ad900x, or the dt990 (in order of preference). Going to skip the HE-400 because of the reported clamping.

Thanks again!

  • Budget - $4-500
  • Source - X-fi Xtremegamer
  • Requirements for Isolation - Don't care one way or another.
  • Preferred Type of Headphone - Full-sized, over the ear. Comfort is a priority and the 650s seem clampy right now
  • Preferred Tonality - Highs and Mids
  • Past headphones - I like the signature of my 5-year-old HD 595s but I want more bass. I had some HD 280s before that. They were best described as Clampy and Cold, okay but deep bass.
  • Preferred Music - Classical, Rock, Electronic, Games (League, BF3, Skyrim, etc)

After having a LAN party recently, I met someone who had some AKGs. I put them on, and the seemed pretty good--even decently comfortable. That got me into looking at the Q

I'm looking for an alternative to Railroad Tycoon 3. One of the great things about that game are optimizing routes to make the most profit, hauling goods around to places with different types of factories, etc. The economics portion of the game is also fun.

I was wondering if there are any games remotely close to this type of gameplay. Thanks!

I've been having apps and Windows 7 crash occasionally. I decided to test out my RAM with Memtest86+ to see if there are any errors.

My memory consists of the following:

2x2GB G.SKill 1600

2x4GB Corsair 1333

First run was overnight, close to 9 hours. 20 Errors. All of them pointed to the first 2GB of RAM, so I decided to test the suspected module. After about 1.5 hours, there were no errors. I tested all the modules separately (1 pass), but there were still no errors. I knew that there might be a chance of a bad memory slot, so I started to try that. I soon remembered that with my motherboard (GB P55-UD3R), I would have to run a set of two sticks in the first pair of slots. What's int
