It got me too a while back haha, but just FYI... The lightning tree is GREAT...I think I've listened to it like 20 times haha (I love Bast) :) I tried to listen to some of the other stories, but I just couldn't really get into them.

the stories are a bit uneven but some are really good too and have made me interested in their authors' other work

Which ones would you recommend? I listened to two others in full but not totally my cup of tea and one only maybe 10mins worth because I couldn't get into it. Then I gave up on trying more haha

ok, with the usual caveats that "tastes may be different" etc. -
Always good author with another good story:
Neil Gaiman - How the Marquis Got His Coat Back
I was amused:
Joe Abercrombie - Tough Times All Over
Matthew Hughes - Inn of Seven Blessings
which are the two you listened and didn't like? I do feel the Rothfuss and Gaiman stories are the best though (unsurprising)

Thanks! I hadn't tried any of those, I listened to A year and a day in old Theradan - Scott Lynch...it wasn't bad, but not really my thing...but also wasn't a huge fan of the narrator which might affect my thoughts. Rogue Prince - George RR Martin , couldn't get through Bad Brass - Bradley Denton...I can't really remember why, but I had to turn it off haha.
Pat's writing is literally all I had before Rogues. I can't get enough of it! Also love Rupert Degas' narration :)

Yeah I read it ages ago. I think Bast is my favourite character.

What kinda stories? Just random stories with a rogue-y theme, or...?
1
Yeah it's lots of short stories, it has a bast story which follows a day in his life - it's been out for ages though.

Is it cannon?
