Painted World of Ariamis
This is my first playthrough ever of Dark Souls and I just beat the world and I have to say this has probably been one of my favorite parts of this game. Sure, it’s not that hard, but the level is pretty with the snow, the concept of the broken castle is neat, and Priscilla’s lore is cool. That’s all, carry on!

They actually created this area first as a demo, and were going to scrap it once they completed the game since it doesn't fit with the rest of the game. But Miyazaki was like "no way, I love this level." So they fit it in. You're absolutely right; the level design is spectacular, the enemies are unique, and the boss that they designed for it is perfect (considering Nito was the original boss for the demo version.) Glad you enjoyed your time in the painted world!
That’s super interesting! So glad they included it. They were right, it doesn’t fit with the rest of the game and that’s why I love it cause it’s a great break from what we’re used to. Also Nito for that area?? That’s weird. I would fighre Seathe would be more fit for that.
I think Nito was just the first boss they modeled for the game. They had a false floor in Priscilla's chamber that the player would fall through into his boss room. Super interesting how the game grew.
That’s really cool actually! Speaking of Nito he’s currently kicking my ass!
Since I used to be scared of him, here's something that might help you: get a divine enchanted weapon to kill off the little skeletons quickly and for good.
Don't go to the back of his boss room, where the big ones are.
Hug him, he'll miss most attacks like that and of course, back off for when he explodes, or have a good shield on you for that. He really enjoys his social distancing, so he won't be much trouble, if you stay reeal close.
Pro tip: he screams before he does the ground stab. Adjust your rolls accordingly haha
Stay at the very back of the arena and let him walk his way to you. Don’t go forward at all. The farther into the arena you go the more skellies you’ll aggro. He will often spam the ground sword spell as he’s walk-in over so be ready to dodge just stay back and dodge it. If you have enough endurance or havels ring, then wear heavy armor for poise so you won’t get staggered out of your combos by the skellies while you’re attacking Nito. Big weapons are cool coz you can kill skellies while attacking Nito all in one swing(s). Also divine weapons kill skeletons permanently until you reload the area or die.
