San Jose, CA - don’t recall these a month ago. Prior growth on stump occurred when it was covered by a paving stone.
Temperatures have been mid-40’s F to high 70’s F (~7 C to ~26 C) with intermittent rain. This is a 9b / Mediterranean climate.
Full sun hits this spot ~3-4 hours per day. Maybe that’s why they don’t look super healthy to a layman like me?
I checked the iNaturalist SF Bay Area page but I am unskilled and do not recognize them. The bottom left photo looks to be different entirely.
