Hi guys! When I purchased my Motherboard, I noticed that my computer would not POST when I plugged my RAM dual channel into DIMMA1 and DIMMA2 Slots. (Bear in mind, my computer boots perfectly fine when plugging my RAM into DIMMB1 and DIMMB2)

I tried this again with just 1 stick of RAM instead of two, my computer would still not POST (same error). I get 2 blinking Debug LED lights. One flashing on CPU, the other flashing on DRAM. I have not been too worried about this up until recently when I discovered this not having my RAM in the optimized slots will limit my PC's performance, especially when playing games.

List anything you've done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem. Tried using different RAM sticks and different slots. Tried Loosening my CPU Cooler in case it was too tight. Updated BIOS to latest version. Enabled XMP in BIOS.

You should have one stick in DIMMA2, and one in DIMMB2. The only time you would use A1 or B2 would be if you have 3/4 sticks. Try this and let me know what happens.

I apologise as I should have been a bit more specific. I have tried this before but going through each slot individually, those are the two slots that do not work at all. I've tried every combination. Thanks for the fast response!

What’s the pattern of the blinking lights?

The CPU and DRAM lights blink and they alternate between the two. So CPU light goes on, turns off, then DRAM light turns on, goes off. and cycles through that.

They both blink for about a second or less each

Sorry, im terrible at explaining things lol

Have you tried removing the CMOS battery? I know you updated the bios, but it’s worth a shot.

Other than that, without being there physically I can’t think or really much else. And it doesn’t seem the blinking pattern really means anything other than unsupported hardware. Which doesn’t make sense if it works sometimes. It could also mean that it’s just not detected which makes more sense. I guess you could try firmly reseating the memory. You may also want to try reseating the CPU and checking for bent pins.

Have you tried it with XMP disabled?

I've tried both yes

Ok. As your board doesn't natively support the 9th gen. cpu's, I would make sure that you have updated to the latest BIOS correctly.

Have done that yes thank you

Could you return the mother board?
