Went 0-3, then 1-3 a couple of times, then this! Overperformers were Brushwagg, Naturalist, Fertilid, and Starrix. (Decklist in comments)

Brushwagg is obscene in limited. GG
Brushwagg kind of reminds me of Knight of the Ebon Legion in the way that it consistently provides more than its mana’s-worth of value and gives you something to do in the early game if you don’t have much else going on.

One thing I've realized in this set is I don't want to get carried away mutating. You open yourself up to losing your whole stack to a single removal spell. It's usually only for a minor gain too, especially if their bodies are very similar.
The Brushwagg though, great abilities and a poor body make it a great mutate target. He's not even useless if you don't have mutate cards in hand, you can always threaten to turn him into a 4/4 midgame. I've upgraded him to a turn 1 [[Dead weight]] target.

Yeah, I agree. Relevant early and great mutate target makes him well worth clearing with a dead weight ASAP.
I never mutated more than once on a creature.
Yeah brushwagg is one of my favorite mutate targets. Turns a good 3/3 into a 6/6 and consistently punches above its weight.
Brushwagg into Starrix was a game-winner a couple of times for me. The card is great in the early game for damage or blocking due to threat of activation and then mutates into a big trampler that can get even bigger.
