Came back to the game to the game after a year or two, I keep getting booted from matches claiming "Disallowed Program [VMWare]

Meta

This PC has never had VMWare installed. I've had Hyper-V installed, and have tried uninstalling it. I've generally tried killing every other process while trying rejoin killed games, and down to a browser, Discord, and PUBG. Battleye still claims no bueno. Is there any secret process that Battleeye goes after or anything else that might be erroneously tripping it?

Try Verifying the Integrity of the cache through Steam. Had a similar problem last month. No guarantees it will fix it, but it helped mine.

Just happened to me for the first time a few hours ago. I changed absolutely nothing from the previous game up until when the error occurred. I was in the middle of a game when I suddenly froze, then the error message popped up. Ended every process and service that I could find related to virtual machines after googling “VMWare” to figure out wtf it is. The closest thing to a virtual machine running on my pc was TeamViewer, which was only running in the background. I closed that, stopped the service, and still no dice. Tried restarting PC and still blocked by this error. I assume the new anti-cheat bluehole implemented is somehow responsible.

Ironic how we get cockblocked by anti cheat while the real hackers run rampant.
