Question regarding doomsday clock

Hi, playing on hard. There have been several times where I am on a quest, all members within the level range, have all the light flowers and debris cleared, all chests open, crew assisted if any, have all monsters killed (except ressurected) and have no dark areas on the map. And yet clock would still be at 90+% instead of 100. What exactly contributes to the clock?

All of that contributes to the clock. You sure there is zero darkness? It's possible something could be hiding in a corner. Other than that, if you are over-leveled when exploring a dungeon you will acquire less progress.

If you already met all those requirements, then it could be a bug although it never happened to me as I always get 110%+.

does taking adventurer memory not count to uncovering darkness? otherwise I am sure there is zero darkness. Has also happened at times when I have not taken memory. Also all levels are within range. Has happened multiple times already and I keep wandering multiple times around the entire place to try and find any remaining monsters but couldnt find any unfought ones most of the time. I have 60+ hours into the game and I still cant figure out why it happens.

What is adventurer memory? Never heard of that before.

I'm playing on hard now and I noticed I don't get 110+ anymore like on normal, so that could be it. Also, fiddling with the gameplay settings (patrol monsters, # of monsters, etc) is probably gonna affect the doomsday clock in ways we don't understand.

adventurer memory is the thing u get from debris that reveals the entire map. On normal I used to get 120+ for every map, did the same thing on hard but im getting 95+ to 110+%. Didnt change any of my gameplay settings.

Oh I see. On hard it says that the doomsday clock moves faster, so what it means by that is that it's generally more difficult to rewind the clock.

Late response and you probably have already cleared Hard mode by this point, but...

In Hard mode, the Doomsday Clock is really tight when it comes to things that contribute to the run's completion rate. Normal mode is forgiving in the sense that you can easily maintain and turn back the clock, but this is not the case in Hard (120% is when the clock begins ticking back). Depending on what area you are in, I found that there are a few things that can cause one to not reach 100% even after doing all the standard objectives of looting and killing.

In the Misty Forest, there are times when you complete everything but are stuck at 97-99%. Can't do much about it, so you have to bite down and accept the clock moving forward. This seems to happen the most on the small maps, but on large maps this isn't too much of an issue.

Starting from the Ruins, you don't really experience it since it's pretty common to have run-ins with rescues, which add anywhere between like 8-13% to completion.

The Cursed Town (and beyond) is a bit more interesting since this introduces both mimics and monster traps. If you avoid killing the mimics and never step on any of the traps, you may end up being under 100%. I mention the monster traps since they sometimes add progress to your runs once the spawns are either killed or disappear after 3 turns if you Witch/Shadow Blade away from them. That's not to say that you should step on every single monster trap, since they stopped adding progress after a few times of me abusing this, but it's handy to know about if you want to turn back the clock as many minutes as possible during your boss run.
