Purchase decision
Hi guys,
Trying to buy a 2017 Audi A4 Technik (fully loaded in Canada ) from à VW dealer. The manufacturer's warranty just expired and the car has 70K km.
They are also offering a 3year/ 60K km extended warranty for 2600 CAD.
Do you think that I should get the warranty?
Also, do I need to make a PPI even though it’s being inspected by the VW dealer?
Thank you

A warranty might not be a bad idea, but be sure to understand what it covers and doesn’t, whether there’s a deductible, etc. You can also research common issues with those cars, and whether you could afford them, if they occurred and you had to pay out of pocket. The car isn’t that old, and if properly maintained, shouldn’t have any major, major issues, but you never know.
I would recommend the PPI, though. There’s no way of knowing whether the dealer actually did the inspection. Most do some form of inspection but the quantity of things they look at, and how closely they look at them, varies widely. There’s no way of knowing if it was inspected by the most meticulous service employee in your region or by Homer Simpson’s idiot cousin trying to finish out the last of his day before heading to the bar.
Thank you. Yes, I will have enough to cover out of pocket repairs. The most common issue from Audi forums is the water pump failure in certain cases.
I have updated thee post with the details of the warranty.
