Is it weird to go to a garage sale of the house you're buying?

My husband and I are closing on our first home June 30th. We are buying in the same town where we currently rent. We've viewed the house twice. After our offer was accepted, the seller left a note on a cabinet asking if we wanted it at our second viewing. I wrote back saying yes and that I was thankful for the ask!

I drove past the house we are buying on my way home from the post office yesterday. There was a garage sale sign out front for June 12th and June 13th. Is it weird or frowned upon if I go to this garage sale?

If it is socially acceptable for me to go to this garage sale, do I tell her I'm buying the house? She will connect the dots assuming we meet at closing.

I think it's hilarious and definitely would go.

I decided to ask my realtor and she said it was fine. Needless to say, I'm heading over there now.

You should ask the seller if they can hold the stuff for you until June 30th haha

So I went. The seller was super sweet. I bought a coffee table and some paintings. She was like I'll just leave this for you so you dont have to pack it up and bring it back. A true saint. 🤣
