Help! New intern starting on Nephro consults

DISCUSSION

Hello all. As title says, I am fresh intern about to start on Nephro consults. I never did a nephro rotation in medical school. Additionally, I consider it one of my weakest subjects. If anybody could give me some pointers or resources I can check out to prepare, that would be great. Thank you guys for your time and help.

When in doubt, the answer is "Maybe some Lasix would help?"

“How much lasix?”

Nephrologists are cool. They're just going to tell you stuff about electrolytes because they know that people with several years more experience than you still don't know anything about nephrology. I know some awkward nephrologists but no mean ones.

Water goes in, pee pee comes out. Pretty simple if you ask me.

If the pee is dark, drink more water.
