Why the fuck do they think that assaulting me with a cringe TikTok ad every goddamn time I look at a profile is gonna do anything other than piss me off?

Grindr has gotten so much worse with all the f ing ads. Pisses me off also

Back in the day there were only ads when you looked for people in other cities, now it’s all the time.

This is why I don’t use Grindr any more. Well, there is the virus too. Ok, it’s mostly because of the virus.

Agree, a shitty app that has gotten shittier. I use Scruff also, not nearly as many ads, plus not as many bots and fake profiles.

Wait. You get TikTok ads? I get the same mobile game ads every damn time.

I hate the trend of having ads that make games look like a fun and complex puzzle game and then it turns out it’s just another copy of FarmVille. I guess apple don’t ban ads for being very obviously misleading.

Same. Or that fish ad where you have to save him.

I was almost yelling at my screen today for how incredibly long the ad was. Soooooooo long.

Geeze, you watch the ads? I clear to home screen, then clear all open screens, then no more ads when looking at profiles.

What IS TikTok???

Like, what is it for? What’s the appeal meant to be? I know people post “funny” videos but is that it?

It’s like WhatsApp if you could ONLY send memes and emojis.

It's an a data gathering app for a massive Chinese corporation (with ties to the CCP as all such companies do)

Oh yes, that much is clear - I really meant from the user’s point of view!!

They intend to slowly break you down over time until they have you mindlessly repeating aloud: "ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US!"

I'm so stubborn, any time an ad plays I'll either close and reset the app (hell it's probably takes less time for the app to reset than the video ads) or say - ok self, that ad is a reminder that I should just close the app and do something more productive.

Though I haven't been on much since pandemic started, too much of a tease?

They don't...that's the strategy...they're trying to piss you off into paying for a subscription. It's unfortunate, but that's how it works...

That’s why I downloaded an ad-blocker. ;)

They don't think it is going to do anything more, they don't need to, they get paid either way
