do you like the 3 Touring/Wagon?

Lately I've been really liking the look of the 3-series touring. I don't have kids or a dog, and sometimes I move bulky things around, though not really all that often. When the F10 F30 comes out I'll be tempted to trade my E46 coupé for a 335 touring. What do you think?

I like the wagons.

I used to think they were all for woman and/or old people who had no sense of class or style. That being said I am quite partial to them nowadays. I think they look pretty slick.

The 3 and 5 series wagons are probably the best of all the wagons out there. I'd take either over a Volvo, Merc, Audi, or any other comparable models.

That's just where I am too.

The F10 is the newest 5-series (2011-). Do you mean the F30, the next generation 3-series? If so, I would wait at least one year after it comes out to grab one. Let them work out some of the kinks first.

Do you enjoy camping, hiking, beach trips, and/or skiing? if so, make sure and get xDrive.

Overall, I like the 3-series touring, it's super practical yet still small and fast.

We just sold our 335 touring to a very happy new owner a few weeks back (we purchased a 2011 135ci). The touring was an awesome car for someone who likes practical, but still a bit sporty! We took it to Watkins Glen with just upgraded kw suspension and race tires, and had a blast. Overheard some other drivers commenting about how you had to "watch out for the wagon out there." Also got asked how we keep our groceries from tipping over. I love our new car, but will always have a soft spot for the touring.

Edit: We also do not have kids or pets. But 4 race tires can fit in the back just fine!

its a great car, i love the look of the touring and like you I have no reason to really need one.

There is a chance though that they will not bring the touring into north america and instead bring in a 3-series GT (like the butt ugly 5 GT).... I really hope they dont make that mistake but the 3 touring does not sell that much and they may just decide to do that instead.

I love them, but I have a reason.

I have the black Grill on it now and currently looking for a good deal on 19"s in Black. VMR's or ZCP reps.

Logic behind this?

Most of the time, the touring/sedan/coupe all have the same horsepower, 0-60, handling capabilities, etc. A lot of people can't have two cars, and most people really don't need an SUV or truck. Really, the best solution is a wagon. Plus it will drive just as well as a coupe/sedan, and it will (and this is the best part) shame naive people at stoplights.

e46 m3 0-60: ~5s (depending on source) e9x 335 0-60: 5.1s

F30 will likely be faster. Personally, I'd love to have a car that's as fast as an e46 M3, gets better mileage, is far more practical, is almost as fun to drive, and can leave most "performance cars" in its dust. I know that comparing 0-60 times is fruitless, but I think that North America has to get over the stigma that a wagon = slow/not fun and the only sports cars come as coupes.

Looks are subjective. I personally like the way the 3 and 5 series Touring models look.
