Beanie Babies - Yes or No
I have someone offering me like 80-90 beanie babies for $200 bucks
Should i or shouldn't I
Not my space and looking online prices seem to be everywhere so not sure what all they are worth

Some Beanie Babies are worth it, but sorting through them and trying to comp them out is a fucking nightmare. I've gone down this rabbit hole in the past and wish I hadn't. Here are the Cliff Notes..
Most of them are fucking worthless and if you try to lot them up, it gets expensive to ship
There's some REALLY shady shit going on with eBay Beanie sales, so straight-up ignore 95% of the comps you see for hundreds/thousands of dollars. It's pretty much common knowledge that it's either someone doing a really bad job at laundering money or someone sitting on a fuck ton of them and trying to manipulate the market. If you dig through these high dollar transactions, they're all between the same handful of accounts, they all have minimal/no feedback, and it just goes around in a circle
There's a lady that grades them, but she's known for embellishment in the grading process and tends to call everything "museum quality" or point out rarities that either aren't that rare or are caused by aging (something like the tag fading in sunlight)
Because of the previous bullet points, most of the hardcore collectors aren't thrilled to help price/identify them or talk about the eBay situation or all of the "errors" that aren't really errors. I honestly don't blame them. I've spoken to a few really helpful folks in the past, but I try not to bother them because they're just trying to enjoy their hobby and they get like 20+ posts in their sub every day asking if they have the $20K Princess Diana
The most straight-forward pricing info I can provide is one of the sticky notes from their sub. It basically groups them into a few different groups and instructs you to only request pricing info it your Beanie belongs in the top tier.

Very good point
Thanks for the info. I definitely appreciate it
You're going to get picked-over beanie babies
Its a local fb add. Guy supposedly inherited his grandmas collection. Idk whether its true or not. Most likely not. I know nothing about them though. I did see one parrot that looks like it sells consistently on ebay for around 40-60 bucks but again the prices on ebay on these things are hard to judge it seems
Yeah if you can spot a few to sell independently to recoup your outlay then I'd do it. But that's a lot of work, parsing, bundling, and shipping to make $100
Yea i agree. I'm trying to branch out more as my niche is very nice but not alot of numbers. Like I've made around 20k in profit this year but have only sold about 400 items or so. Its a nice side hustle and I know it well but im thinking about getting into flipping more full time, as i really enjoy the hustle, just trying to figure out where to branch off too lol
Also it makes it tough because right now on a item I usually make 100-600 profit and most niches don't seem to be like that and trying to get in my head any profit is a profit
That's a nice profit per item. I started in a $20/item profit niche and slowly worked my way down until I felt I was wasting my time, i.e. selling clothes for a $5 profit.
The good thing with beanie babies is they are easy to lot, and cheap to ship. Sometimes the best way to find a gravy train is to take a risk.
I dunno, but I will sell you 80 for $200
Nah you should be sourcing black diamond Disney VHS instead
Thanks for the tip
don’t listen to him lol he’s messing with you
I know i was returning his sarcasm with sarcasm lol
Ask if they want to buy some.
That's the only rational response to an offer like that.
I see you said it's an estate sale, so I'll give the guy a pass.
Oh, there are a very few beanie babies (as of the last time I checked which was like 10 years ago) that will sell but they are long tail items. Without getting a book and wasting time researching, it is the large ones.
Like we bought a bunch of "winks" to have an elephant tea party. Again, that was 10 years ago.
I guess you could make money if you have a local sales avenue where you can sell the commons for a buck or two apiece, but I wouldn't want to pay more than a quarter apiece for them in bulk like that.
While he may want to sell the lot, offer him $20 for a couple of your choice and see if he bites.
No
I usually don't buy them for anything over $.25-$.50 each if flipping.
