Okay, what do I do here?

Okay, what do I do here?

Trying to shift the third row requires making a 256 with the top two rows, which is equivalent to making a 65536 tile, which seems like a death wish if I have to do it to live.

I'm guessing I need to find some scenario where I have the board filled and the second row and fourth column lined up to go such that I can play ULLD, make a 1k tile, then try to continue? Anybody ever try a manoeuvre like this before?

I would go for the ULLD maneuver. I've attempted it maybe a dozen or more times and succeeded.... twice. That being said, if you get the farthest right 512 into row 2 and can only get left once at first, you're set up to go into DPDF to build another tile to shift the 2nd row again, you just have to make sure you don't build your tiles too high when blocking the board because you won't have the advantage of building to the corner like normal.

There is a high probability of saving this. If you play a lot of DPDF, you won't find it that hard. Luckily the 32 on A2 is small enough. If you had 2,4,8,or 16 on A2, it would have been better. If you had 256 on A2, then it could have been a lost cause. Good thing you asked for help now. The general idea is that you need to push the 512 on D2 to D3 and then push it over to B3. I played it and this is where I am now. It is pretty easy from here. If you need a full summary I have to give it you later because I have to go out now. The success rate is over 70%.

All the best

I would keep building the 32 above the 16384 into a 128, and then I would do my best to build a 128 in the 2x4 space. The best position is probably something like this:

    2 2 4
8 16 32 64
128 512 256 512
16k 4k 2k 2

After this you go up and you have to make a 512 in the PDF space, which is equivalent to a 32768 proposition. Kind of risky, but it works.

P.S. what do you mean by "ULLD maneuver"? I have never heard of that term before.

Up, Left, Left, Down. I managed to save this but lost before I made the third 8k.

Update: I did manage to save it after getting into this configuration:

  2 2 2 4
  8 4 4 4
 32 512 256 512
16k 4k 2k 2

at which point I played ULLD and made my 1k. I then tried to build the last 1k using 11 tiles into the spot holding the 256, but didn't make it. Oh well. I think I made the right call here.
