Honestly, my answer is practice. I could write a college level thesis on all of the little nuances about this game, but none of that will do you any good unless you learn them yourself. The more you play, the more you start to understand the system and develop strategies of your own. Eventually though it comes down to guessing, so a good understanding of probability could take you a long way too.

Honestly. One of my best gaming victories in my life was the first like 50x50 minesweeper win I got in school. I wasted hundreds and hundreds of hours trying. Legit retired from minesweeper forever that day. 200 custom though? You’re a savage. Kudos.
