Questions about the RSP Cadre process
Hi all!
A little background info: I am currently deployed with about 2-3ish months left until I return back to my home state, followed by a couple of DEMOB drills. I was promoted to E5 last year during PREMOB, and am slotted in a new company upon my return/DEMOB. However, I have roughly 12 months of drilling status left once everything is all said and done, and figured becoming an RSP cadre would be a nice way to end my contract and get me some experience as an instructor/mentor. I am a senior in college and intend on going to law school after I graduate, so I will be taking a break from the Guard in order to focus on that (unless I can drop a packet to get law school paid for by the Army - I'll save that for a different post). My new unit is part of a different battallion, but I would prefer to be cadre at the RSP closer to my current unit. Does anyone know how I would go about doing this? Thanks in advance!

You’ll need to talk to the RSP NCOIC at the site you want to work at and see if they want and have the money for M-day cadre. If they do and they do then they’ll help you with the necessary paperwork to attach you to the RSP for drills, but ultimately your unit will have to sign off on it.
Roger that - thanks man! I'll definitely look into it. I sent a message to my recruiter the other night and he said he'd be willing to assist me with everything as they are short on RSP cadre. I appreciate the advice!
