Hey all! Just seeking some career advice :)

Bit of background: I am an E5 with about 7 months left on my first contract. Returned from a 14-month deployment to Iraq last fall and got promoted during pre-MOB, so my time as a SGT has been mostly done through deployment (and I didn't really lead troops due to being in a MEDEVAC team for a different state's Guard). I'm a 25U in a combat engineer unit now and not the biggest fan of Signal work anymore, so I have a few options that I'd like some input on:

(1) I'm one semester away from obtaining my bachelor's degree (law/sociology), so I could ETS and pursue my master's degree in either counseling psych or cybersecurity (I am CompTIA Sec+ certif

Maybe this isn't the place to ask but figured I would anyways. I am currently 20 credits away from my bachelor's in law/criminology and am Security+ certified as of last November. I work as a forward signal NCO in the Army but would like to change things up a bit for my civilian career

I was considering three routes from here:

(1) pursue a second bachelor's in cyber forensics, as one of my career goals would be to assist in tracking down cyber criminals and child predators. This would take me an additional 2-3 semesters (minimum 30 credits)

(2) instead of getting a bachelor's in cyber forensics, I could get a post-bachelorette certificate in cyber forensics. I talked to an academic adviso

Hi friends!

Background: I have been talking to her for 6 months now. I'm deployed overseas in areas where we often experience media blackouts but I will be back home within a month or so. We met a couple of years before this via online dating but never acted on it. While over here, we rematched on the same site and since have been keeping in touch every day and video call every week or so for several hours each time (when the internet doesn't crap out, that is)

Situation: recently it seems she has much less enthusiasm when we talk. In the beginning, she'd send me paragraphs and would respond within minutes. Now, I'm lucky to get a sentence or two and the responses can take an

I did a 13-month deployment with about 9 months in Iraq - only spent a week with my native unit and fell under a different unit for the remaining 8ish months up in Iraq. I earned my CAB (combat action badge) while serving under this unit I was attached to for being in combat with them. Before separating from this unit I was attached to, they gave me one of their unit patches and wrote me several awards. However, I got my statement of wartime service recently and it says I am authorized to wear my native unit's deployment patch. Am I not allowed to wear this other unit's patch? Is that something people would actually check on if I were to wear it? How would I go about getting approved to wear

Hi all!

A little background info: I am currently deployed with about 2-3ish months left until I return back to my home state, followed by a couple of DEMOB drills. I was promoted to E5 last year during PREMOB, and am slotted in a new company upon my return/DEMOB. However, I have roughly 12 months of drilling status left once everything is all said and done, and figured becoming an RSP cadre would be a nice way to end my contract and get me some experience as an instructor/mentor. I am a senior in college and intend on going to law school after I graduate, so I will be taking a break from the Guard in order to focus on that (unless I can drop a packet to get law school paid for by the Army -

Hey guys and gals!

Here's a bit of background:

I've been deployed now for 9 months and am hoping to be home in 3ish months. I have been talking to this girl (who we'll call 'X') every day now for 4 months. X and I matched on a dating app and started talking, when, to our surprise, we both realized we had matched a couple of years ago. She actually remembered quite a bit about me despite it being so long ago. Unfortunately, we never did anything about it back then. Now, we seem to have a much more meaningful connection that has a very solid foundation. We agree on just about every major topic (politics, religion, social issues, etc.). She has trust issues with guys and told me at the beginn
