What's Ecclesfield like to live in?

Question

Me and my partner and looking at buying a house and have looking at grenoside, Ecclesfield, chapel town etc

We are both new(ish) to Sheffield though and lived around endcliffe and kelham before so just wondering what Ecclesfield is like?

It's quite close to parsons cross which has a bit of a reputation so just a bit wary.

Anyone familiar with it and can guide us either way?

I live in Chapeltown and like it, good amenities and close to train station, M1 and countryside. Ecclesfield is nice, don't be wary about proximity to Parson Cross :)

Nothing wrong with parson cross now. Used to be rough as arseholes. A lot of it is now privately owned. There are a couple of roads that aren’t great but it’s definitely improved.

Not too bad. It gets more bad press than anywhere else though as it’s one of the main thoroughfares. Hence attracts more issues.

Ecclesfield resident here :) we like it. Had no problems in last 3 years since moving here and it has a bit of a village-like feel to it.

I'm in Shiregreen (I'm right on the border of Ecclesfield) and it's quite nice round here.

Rule 1, don't accept residential advice from someone called drugcrazed.

I've been living in parson cross and southey green for years without any problems. As long as you're sensible with home security and ideally befriend your neighbours (which is easily done around here) you shouldn't have a problem. So don't worry about proximity to here from ecclesfield.

But yeah, ecclesfield, chap and high green are all nice. I love going up to greno woods too.

You ever order delivery from sancos?

I live there (for now), it's not too bad but if you're used to having lots of nice restaurants and pubs about you're going to find it lacking here.

The old parts of Ecclesfield are very nice indeed. Although parts of Ecclesfield do merge into Parsons Cross so bear in mind that the area does vary a fair bit.

Parson cross is still a poop hole I'm afraid. Ecclesfield and Grenoside are lovely, as is Chapeltown. You'll see this reflected in the house prices

I live just on the edge of Parsons Cross and Ecclesfield and honestly it's nice.

There's a lil bit of drama here every now and again but it's more entertaining then frightening, so don't be wary of it

Parson cross is a bad area but ecclesfield is pretty quiet and nice

Parson Cross is the only estate in Sheffield where the police actually arrest you for not carrying a knife, honest.
