Chapter 416 Prediction Thread

What do you think will happen in chapter 416?

I foresee trouble, obviously, or more precisely that whoever sent the assassin after Kaleesh tried to sway hearts and thus incite a rebellion to usurp the army. Seeing as most soldiers are prisoners, I doubt they have much say in the matter if leadership changes, as they have to serve a year in the Desolation either way to earn their freedom.

My money is on Domar being a center figure, although I'm unconvinced about his allegiance.

I suspect Arran will start taking the pills that he recieved and using the natural energy to improve the bloodlines he recieved and make another leap forward in strength....also his sugar mama has yet to arrive so he is at least one or two weeks away from going into the Desolation if no more surprises pop up and complicate things further...and I really hope no more twists come at least untill they enter the Desolation and start fighting the Blight

I am expecting their foray into desolation to start. Arran and Kaleesh to cultivate their bloodlines.

1.)There is also a possibility that assassin was from martial alliance. Expecting some resistance from Lords on Kadun's side or Matas, son of Lord Ravir.

2.)Domar may not start trouble because Kaleesh will be back. Domar questioned Sassun's captaincy but not Kaleesh's.

They need at least another week of actual training to acclimatize to the Desolation's suppression from what we'd been told. I do hope the story focuses on Arran and less on the army business but at this stage politics are becoming important and I doubt we'll skip ahead.

If the assassin was indeed sent by the Martial Alliance then trouble will come for Arran the moment he leaves Sacrifice -- he was involved in the death of Kadun, killed Lord Malach's Knight and the assassin sent for Kaleesh suspiciously disappeared.

As for Domar, if he's involved then I suspect it will be more subtle like questioning Kaleesh's promise of rewards.

In 415 the priest told that suppression is already in effect. I am not sure of an extra week, desolation's suppression might be different. At this point focus should be on both of them, gives a view on how army's functioning there. In desolation army fares better than loners as per previous plotline.

Arran's control is off because his strength is suppressed; I meant that he needs to adjust to that so his level of swordsmanship returns to its peak. If not for Kaleesh, it would've cost him his life when he failed to ambush the assassin.

As for the focus, I just find the narration of the story to be more interesting when we're following Arran (alone or in a group) than when it's about 'a group that happens to have Arran in it'. I know the difference sounds small, but it's noticeable.

Yup. Arran's swordsmanship is not at it's peak. Need some time to adjust.

I would like the first option as well "when narration follows Arran" Arran should learn some management may be he is going to lead a team against some enemy as per Panurge, when Arran had first enlightenment.

I feel like that amulet thing that brightblade gave Arran will soon activate forcing him to return before achieving everything he set out for. Either that or he will get some big windfall before being forced to return. Either way, I believe that the amulet will be the cause of his return, not his own choice. Though I do expect it to be after quite a few chapters. He may even take kaleesh with him.
