Many stories have the protagonist leaving their home on a hero’s journey.

What are your favorite reasons for such journeys and who did it best?

To start: I like it when there is no doomsday prophecy hanging over the MC’s head from the start (those can come later), and they’re simply looking for better future prospects. Beware of Chicken did it well, as did Hedge Wizard.

I’m looking for recommendations for PF stories with no distinct power ladder (think ranks, stages, levels, etc).

The only example that comes to mind is Mage Errant, which only has a few subjective titles that don’t actually represent much other than a general level of competence. (EDIT: recalled that Instrument of Omens also mostly qualifies, for those interested in the topic.)

P.S.: I know it’s very much not standard for the genre, but wanted to see if there’s anything of the sort to be found.

In Bloodline page 219, we learn the following from Eithan's point of view:

He would just have to leave twelve people in a burning building.

Eithan had made that choice long ago.

If you add the Court of Seven and the five Executers (one of which is Daruman aka the Mad King) who were in charge of destroying Iterations, the ones who later became the first Vroshir, you get exactly twelve.

Ozriel joined the Abidan, and eventually replaced the Executers as the sole one in charge of cleanup. While the Executers went rogue at some point, as the timeline isn't clear, we can still reasonably assume that Ozriel perhaps made the decision to leave even before they split -- the decis

I've been thinking about how our trio would fare in SV, with the curse draining their power.

Lindon might have the lowest advancement level (assuming he doesn't advance on the way), but his control over his madra is likely the best since he's a Sage. With the drain curse putting a cap on power, his channels can likely sustain non-stop blackflame use without issue. Most importantly, his pure physical strength is absolutely insane, beyond even what a normal sacred beast of the same rank can hope to achieve. Even without any madra, Lindon should be able to pummel a bunch of SV Jades into the ground with his bear (bare) hands.

We've seen the Sword Sage struggle to use his authority, so Lindon

So I wanted to switch to a CHT necklace, but the quest ("Remnants of Horntail" I believe it was called) to get another dragonstone in exchange for an egg is missing. I've checked the tabs for in-progress, available and completed quests and it's missing from all of them. Wiki shows this should be repeatable and the fact it's missing from my completed quests makes me think it's true.

The dragon spirit is present in its hatched form inside the nest, but offers only an unhelpful "Kyuuu?" (I had the required egg in my inventory, no quest available).

Is this a new bug? How do I report it?

It was hard enough to find someone to fight when he was a Herald, can you imagine doing that as a Monarch? The poor dude would never have advanced if he had a choice.

I'm calling it now, Fury will pull a Sha Miara trick in the next Uncrowned King Tournament.

I'm having a hard time deciding on a scale for the power progression in the story I'm working on. The setting is based around the wild west in a fictional world, with elements of magic and science fiction.

There are two sources of power in my world, Vitality and Essence:

  • Vitality allows one to quickly recover from injuries and exertion, as well as perform superhuman physical feats for a short time.
  • Essence is used for casting spells and similar innate spell-like abilities.

I don't wish to take a completely soft approach and thus need a scale to measure my protagonist who will use both sources of power, although magic won't be abused to solve every problem outright. The story is almost

What do you think will happen in chapter 416?

I foresee trouble, obviously, or more precisely that whoever sent the assassin after Kaleesh tried to sway hearts and thus incite a rebellion to usurp the army. Seeing as most soldiers are prisoners, I doubt they have much say in the matter if leadership changes, as they have to serve a year in the Desolation either way to earn their freedom.

My money is on Domar being a center figure, although I'm unconvinced about his allegiance.

I read Suited For Luck the other day (portal-fantasy with light LitRPG elements and progression) that takes place in an Old/Wild West setting, which is what spoke to me the most in the entire novel.

Are there any recommended novels (RR's fine too) taking place in such a setting? it seems like a great fit for some darker progression-fantasy stories but I couldn't find much on amazon or online.

Theory about Bam's origins

SpoilerWebtoon Theory

EDIT: The number 25 ended up being related to Bam's birthday as pointed out by another user, it might not change anything about the theory but keep that in mind.

This is a theory that popped into my head after rereading the earlier chapters/episodes of the webtoon, I wouldn't be surprised if it appeared somewhere in the past but I'd like to hear what people think about it.

We and Bam himself know his full name to be "the 25th Bam". We've seen the three-eyed symbol of Jahad in the cave where he was trapped before entering the tower.

Could Bam just be one of Jahad's experiments on manipulating Fate? There were twenty-four failed attempts to bring Arlene's dead child back to life, and Bam wa

Started a new run on a Kensai 9 > Mage (not a mage just yet), I intend to play it through BG:EE then proceed to BG2.

  1. Currently the character has 18 CON and I'll be getting the tome for a +1 soon, is the Claw of Kazgaroth worthwhile for it? I think the synergy with the Ring of Gaxx later on is good but I never tried both at the same time or played BG2 long enough to notice how important the penalty to vs. Death saves could be.
  2. From the experiment I did excess experience is lost when dual-classing, is there a procedure of completing quests but leaving them unfinished to quickly level up once you dual-class by turning them in that is usually used? I haven't found anything similar onli

I'm looking for a stylus pen that's compatible with the T101HA tablet computer, the official Asus pen doesn't appear to work with it but it seems odd that no pen in existence will work with it.

Any help will be appreciated!

EDIT: I just tested with a few objects and it appears the screen is indeed capacitive, does that mean that any such pen should work?

P.S: a pen that works for simple writing is sufficient, I'm not an artist so there is no requirement for it to have any fancy options.
